SCUK Summer Bash
Back for its 11th year. Camping near Tamworth and then a shred at the SnowDome. Details coming soon!
This is the 11th SCUK Summer Bash, so make an effort to come along. After all, it's just a bit of fun, just like snowboarding.
The Summer Bash is one of the most popular of all our Bashes, due in no small part to the huge quantities of beer consumed and the big fire. Everybody loves a big fire. And beer. It's an excuse for a spot of camping and a big fun shred session. Everybody is welcome, whether you're a SCUK member or not, but naturally all SCUK Members are treated special.

The weekend is loose and goes something like this:
You book everything separately, so you can join in as much as you want.
All the booking details are below. SCUK Members who pre-book the snowboard session will get the session for SnowDome Members' rates.
Basically, if you do everything it's £10 for the camping, £9 for tubing, £23 for the snowboarding and £1.50+ for a bottle of beer and a burger to keep you going for the weekend.
Dunx will be carting along a gas BBQ, so bring carbon-based foodstuffs for traditional incineration. Naturally, drinks are also encouraged, perhaps fruit based... hops, apple or grape suggested.
In an effort to save tents and the field there will be a single camp fire, with no exceptions - this is the only SCUK Bash rule we have. The fire will keep us all warm in to the early hours and act as a focus for the sacrifice of afore-mentioned foodstuffs, beverages and any tribal dancing that ensues.
There are no actual camping facilities at the field, so we'll be supplying a portable bog. We're talking basic okay Ė a chance to get to know the "dirty" you.
Cost: This will be £10 per person for the weekend, which goes straight to the farmer. We'll collect cash only during the weekend.
Alternatively, lightweights can seek comfort at the Travel Inn across the road from the SnowDome or try out the new Holiday Inn Express situated in the SnowDome car park if you canít even be bothered to walk... but you will miss all the fun!
During the dayFootball. Frisbee. Rounders. Throwy-things. Kites. Shoe Golf. Chat. Beer. Trampoline. Paddling pools. Burgers. Tunes.
A lot more fun than we can put in to words!
I know snowboarders are too kool for skool, but adrenalin tubing is fun. Launch yourself down the slope on a huge tyre. Two sessions are available on Saturday night at 6.35pm and 7.10pm.
Cost: £9 per person, pre-booking advised. There is space for 25 people per session and it's first-come, first-served.
Naturally, we'll be doing more than a spot of snowboarding thanks to the SnowDome, who will host a special park session on Saturday night from 8.30pm to midnight at least. Ramps, quarter pipe, walls, rails, boxes, pipes and snow for all levels.
Cost: SCUK members that pre-book will get the great SnowDome member's rate, that's just £23 for adults. Otherwise, if you're not a member at SnowDome the cost is £36 adults on the day. To get the SCUK or SnowDome members' discount please book the normal Fresh session online at snowdome.co.uk by 25th August 2012 and use the discount code "BASH13" at the checkout. Donít forget to bring your valid SCUK members card to SnowDome reception on the day.
Even "jam session" makes this sound more serious than it is. We go snowboarding, have fun, do some silly competitions - longest olly, Chinese downhill - and throw free stuff at people all night.
Equipment Demos courtesy of The Snowboard Asylum
New for this year, and something that went down really well at our Spring Bash, is equipment demos. TSA will be joining us on the slope with their 2013/14 demo stock, so you can try before you buy.
Details of the field can be found here, but if you head for B79 7SH you'll just about be there.
Please remember we are guests of the farmer and treat his field with respect. See Rule 1 - just one camp fire!
SnowDomeRoad access to Tamworth SnowDome is a doddle off the M42 and A5.
Remember the Tamworth Snowdome has a minimum recreational standard - this basically means you can link turns, control your speed and you're not a danger to others. It doesn't matter whether you own the SnowDome or not, you will be asked to leave the slope on Saturday night if you are so drunk you are seen to be a danger to others.
The SCUK Summer Bash event page can be administered by dunx (Dunx), stu (Stu Brass), spencer (Spencer Claridge) and office (Office).
