Back for a fourth year. Come and find your freestyle mojo!

Details

Pictures from this year.
Video from this year.

Here at SCUK we want everybody riding more often, enjoying snowboarding and loving the benefits of SCUK Membership all year round. To us, that means a summer of freestyle in the UK. If you can already ride, but have "the fear" of those rails, boxes and jumps, then the fourth Spring Bash is just for you.

We'll have rails, jumps and boxes out on the slope all day, with bargain beginner freestyle coaching sessions for those that need it.

Many thanks to all our jam session sponsors in advance! We'll add them as they come in, so watch this space.

Freestyle Coaching

Finding your freestyle mojo is what this event is all about and we have two of the best companies in the business to help you find it! Fully qualified freestyle instructors will take you from an absolute freestyle beginner to somebody confident in giving freestyle a go.

Definition and Maverix will be running coaching sessions all day long starting at 9.30am. Each session is for a group size of 6, will be an hour long and cost just £5 for SCUK members, £10 otherwise. Each will have a slide box and small kicker roped off for their exclusive use.

Reserving Coaching Sessions

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
We have 240 coaching sessions available and you can reserve any four sessions in advance. The only limitation is that you can reserve no more than two sessions in the morning (sessions 1 to 3) and no more than two sessions in the afternoon (sessions 4 to 6). This is to give everybody who comes a chance of getting on sessions even if they fail to reserve any in advance.

Reservation is first-come, first-served and will close 6pm the day before the event.

Spare coaching places will be available on the day, so come and find us before each session starts. Priority will be given to those that haven't been/booked on any sessions yet and to SCUK Members. We aim to fill all sessions.

Payment for sessions must be in cash to the SCUK stand on site at least 20 minutes before the session starts. There is a cash machine on site. If you're late we will attempt to sell your place to somebody else. We'll issue you with a ticket that you need to hand to your coach on the slope. You must have a valid Snow Centre slope pass for your time on the slope!

To reserve your coaching sessions, just email dunx@snowboardclub.co.uk with the subject "SCUK Spring Bash Sessions" with your full name and the session numbers you want to reserve. So, for example, "Duncan Worrell MAV-1S, MAV-2B, DEF-4B and DEF-5K". Dunx will reply when your place is reserved or offer alternatives if they are full.

The Day Park

There will be freestyle features open from 9am, which will include at least a kicker and The New SCUK Box as well as several other rookie features. More features will be dropped in during the afternoon.

The aim is to create a beginner friendly freestyle park that should last the whole day, so snowboarders and skiers can give freestyle a go, perhaps for the first time on a session and then put what they've learnt to practice after the session. There's freestyle available all day, even if you're not booked on a freestyle coaching session.

Remember the coaching areas are for coaching only during the day, but will open up for all during the jam session at 6pm.

The Jam Session

From 6pm, the coaching stops and you get to show off a bit. The park will be the stuff you've been riding all day and will give the freestyle newbie in you a chance to put new skills to the test. We'll have a heap of sponsors and lots of prizes to throw down. At a SCUK jam, we give prizes to people giving it a go and you're just as likely to get a T-shirt for falling over as doing a front-flip. Team GB rider Billy Morgan turned up last year and didn't win a sausage. We'll have lots of stuff to give away on the night with the help of MC Pocket.

I Want More!

Butta will have their waxing tent with them and will be offering free hot waxing out on the slope, whilst the following brands will have demo equipment for you to try free-of-charge on the day.

The The SCUK Spring Bash event page can be administered by dunx (Dunx), stu (Stu Brass), spencer (Spencer Claridge) and office (Office).
