The Ackers The Ackers is a non profit charity (Reg No. 1107240) run for the benefit of the community. The Ackers has 3 floodlit synthetic bristle matting slopes available for use throughout the year. The main slope is approx. 100m long and incorporates a permanent ramp jump area and mobile rails, ideal for those wishing to practice or improve their techniques. There are also 3 x 30m nursery slopes. One nursery slope is dedicated solely to snowboard lessons and the other two are used for starter ski lessons and tobogganing. Equipment HireSnowboard and ski hire is included in the price. PricesAs a charity, The Ackers ploughs surplus funds generated into offering substantially subsidised rates to school and youth groups, as well as disabled groups and charitable organisations. Ring the booking line for more information. LessonsSnowboard lessons provided on evenings and weekends. All lessons must be booked in advance. Food/DrinkA selection of refreshments are available on site through vending machines and hot drinks to order. Other FacilitiesThe Ackers offers a wide range of outdoor activities for all ages and abilities. Everything from skiing and snowboarding to climbing and canoeing, team building and archery is available to everyone. Toboggan parties are also available.
