The Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead
The Snow Centre at Hemel Hempstead is the most recently opened indoor slope in the UK and a BASI recognised Centre of Excellence. It is the closest slope to London, situated just 5 minutes from Junction 8 of the M1 and 10 minutes from Junction 20 of the M25.
It has had the advantage of cherry-picking all the best design features of the existing indoor slopes and has done a sterling job, creating a slope that has great snow, expansive viewing from the Lodge-themed bar and restaurant with heaps of natural light and a generally fresh vibe throughout.
The main slope is 160m long by 30m wide and services by 2 drag lifts, flanked by what is the longest learner slope in the country at 100m, which is accessed by travellators. The Centre offers expert tuition with all equipment included for those getting started or getting back involved.
For snowboarders and freeskiers alike, Thursday and Friday evenings are freestyle nights and the Snow Centre has a vast inventory of new obstacles including the Snowboard Club UK box and shotgun rail. Whilst catering for all abilities they can also reportedly build the largest kickers in the UK and often host signature parks from snowboard luminaries such as Jamie Nichols, Andy Nudds and Aimee Fuller.
We host the Snowboard Club UK Spring Bash here, which combines freestyle coaching sessions with a laid-back Jam Session and sells out every year. We also have an exceptional member discount with The Snow Centre.
Ever-popular tubing and sledging sessions are also available with the opportunity to book private sessions for large groups or parties, and the complex houses a large Snow + Rock outlet where Snowboard Club UK members can enjoy a 10% discount.
