Saturday 20th February saw a new event hit the SnowDome. The Burton Blow Out was a result of the gap left in the UK’s winter competition schedule during the New Year. With many riders travelling off to more exotic locations over these months Burton Snowboards thought it would be nice to host an event for the “real people” who slug their guts out all winter and who may not get a chance to head out to a resort.

The event was also an opportunity for the riders to try their luck on the Burton Staircase Rails that will now reside at the SnowDome and will be a regular feature on their freestyle nights. The down - flat - down and the down bar (from previous Scrap Metal events) are one of the best-loved obstacles in the UK as well as being one of the burliest!

The format was a lighthearted jam with prizes awarded for everything from stand out tricks to the knarliest slams! Some decent swag was on offer as well with goodies from Burton, Analog, Gravis, Anon and RED Protection and most people went away clutching something for their efforts.

The SnowDome & Burton Snowboards present a mid season blowout event starring the Burton staircase rails. Open to all ages and abilities, the night will feature a jam format comp, with prizes from Burton, Anon, RED, Analog and Gravis. The new B-Movie by Burton will also be screened in the bar at half time… a night of fresh rails, tasty swag and good times guaranteed!

We have just confirmed that there will not be a ramp night on Boxing Day at Tamworth SnowDome.

New Years Day is a Friday and therefore the ramp night on Saturday 2nd January will be on as normal!

Other than that, everything else remains as normal! They are closed Christmas Day only.

More prizes, more obstacles and more chances - who will be crowned the Santa Cruz Rookie Rider Clash winners this year?

Our chums at Tamworth Snowdome came up with a screaming set of obstacles last season including a rainbow rail, kickers, wall ride and quarter pipe - hit as many or as little as you like in the one hour snowboard jam but ride with style to impress our judges who will pick out the finalists.

There's no Tuesday ramp night sessions now until the first Tuesday in April. That happens to be April 1st and SnowDome will put on a big comp to celebrate its return!

Chris KightleyWho's The Daddy returned for its 5th anniversary at the SnowDome on Saturday 7th November.

We still can't decide whether this is friendly rivalry or a battle with bloodshed a serious possibility, but Tamworth SnowDome will be holding their annual Who's The Daddy? event on Saturday 7th November. With skiers having won every year so far, we encourage all snowboarders to "get creative"!
