Snozone have their new rainbow rail out in place of the long straight rail at the bottom of the slope. We haven't seen it but readers say it's short, about 2-3ft high with a nice run in, but icy landing. Apparently, it's really easy to ride. We'll possibly have some pictures next week.

A leaflet from SnoZone reveals that Friday night will be the snowboarding only night. The session will last from 8pm until 11pm and cost £40. This is almost twice the price of the equivalent session at Tamworth and the equivalent of about 3 days worth of lift passes in Europe.

Natives have reported that the reason for the delay is that they can't get enough snow to fall in the dome.

It's all change again. This week the Xscape website reports that Snozone will open to the public on Thursday 6th July 2000 with the official launch the day before. Reports suggest some of the delay has been down to McAlpine.

Xscape have issued a Press Release detailing a whole load more information on the Snozone and Xscape itself, including the various retailers in the development.Read the Press Release here.

The Xscape website reveals that the Snozone is expected to open to the public on Friday 30th June 2000. A new website is planned for release in June as well, although no further details are given.

Although the bars, shops and cinema will be open by the end of May, the Snozone will not be open until 1st July 2000. That's a whole painful month longer than originally thought. However, the Snowboard Asylum User Forum has the date down as 29th June, so who can tell?

The snow to be used at Snozone has now been confirmed as Acer Snowmec as originally intended.

Snowboard UK magazine has an article on the new slope which is actually called Snozone (it's the complex that's called Xscape). Gill Weeks went to a meeting last night with the Xscape developers and a guy from Healthland. Seems like they're undecided on snowmaking at this stage; either Acer Snowmec or Polar Snow.
