Posted Thursday 1st December 2011, 9:56 pm by Dunx
Christmas is a time for giving, a time for caring and most importantly, it is a time for being able to prove that you can perform double corks and spins over 720 when asked to by any grandparents or distant relatives. What do you mean you can't?

Well never fear as www.TheAirBag.net is heading down to SNO!zone Castleford on Friday the 2nd of December so you won't have to disappoint your relatives. From 7 we will be there ready to catch you safely as you fly off a big real snow kicker doing what you do best.

Sessions begin at 7 as usual and run in the usual 45 minute blocks. For more info or to book check out www.snozoneuk.com or call 0871 222 567.

This Wednesday the TheAirBag.net will be at SNO!zone Castleford with another big snow booter - As far as I am aware the first one for Cas in a long time! From 7 we will be there ready to catch you safely as you fly off a big real snow kicker doing what you do best - some looking very stylish (mostly the young kids) while most get off the ramp and appear to have a mid air panic attack. This is billed as a student event however all non students are more than welcome. Sessions begin at 7 and run in the usual 45 minute blocks. We hope to see you all down there!

Pics from DC's Jet Set
Posted Tuesday 5th July 2011, 10:50 pm by Dunx
So DC's JET SET landed at Sno!zone Castleford on Friday 24th of June and was set to be one hell of a night.

The park crew at Castleford worked long and hard to produce some of the most innovative and challenging features seen by many for a long time.

Right from the get go every single rider who hit the feature was throwing down with the eventual winners being Katie Omerod for the Girls, Callum Patton for the under 16s and Gareth Andrews stomped it to take the massive £700 for the guys.

A big shout out goes to Jordy Gee who is currently recovering in hospital after crashing out in the jam session. We hope he has a speedy recovery and our thoughts are with Jordy his and friends and his family at this difficult time. Get well soon bro.

SNO!zone Castleford Freestyle Development and park for this week
Posted Wednesday 2nd February 2011, 3:10 pm by Dunx
After listening to what you good folk like and don't like about the UK's indoor parks from the SCUK forum, SNO!zone Castleford have issued the following...

As freestyle skiing and snowboarding is all about pushing boundaries and trying new things, then true to form so should our park set ups. From February 2011 the park at SNO!zone Castleford will be redesigned in a manner to help everyone who rides here develop.

In essence we’re aiming to do what the good real mountain parks do, accommodate full lines through the park to fit everyone’s ability; Create an environment where those new to freestyle can attempt easier features without being surrounded by intimidating influences, and those who are looking to progress not just their own riding but the standard of the sport have features befitting them as well.

The layout of the park will house full top to bottom rookie, intermediate and advanced lines. The rookie line shall be primarily single features with plenty of room for the run in or the odd mistake! It is also intended that the line develop with the slope, with easier features at the top to give you confidence as you ride. This will be the home of our Academy on a Friday night so everyone wanting to get into freestyle has a welcome environment to do so and coaches to give them the essential tips and advice.

The intermediate and advanced lines will be designed again to aid in the development of those using the park, with more technical features and layouts changing weekly.

To make it even easier to identify this on the night every approach will be marked green (rookie), blue (intermediate) or red (advanced) so when you’re stood at the top of the slope you will be able to pick the line suited to your ability. This will also be highlighted on the park plan available on line before the park’s been built.

The last Friday of every month will be a feature park, from ParkStrife, brand take over to the return of SNO!Storm. These nights will see the rookie park move to the nursery slope and the main slope shaped to perfection by the CASVegas crew, we may have lost out on the ‘Burton Golden Shovel’ to the MK boys but we’re the home of the epic ‘Nike 6.0 Stair Set’ and the finest shapers in the north!
