Good new for those of you who like a bit of freestyle coaching as the Trickology have just added many new dates to the calender for the summer and into next season.

Following a very successful winter season, Trickology has held some awesome freestyle coaching courses, with a heap of progression from those that have attended the sessions.

Trickology’s technical and patient approach to freestyle has seen many riders hit up a kicker for the first time, land that first straight air, and even stomp those first 360s and we're looking forward to helping more and more riders improve their shred skills over the longer months.

So if you fancy getting your freestyle on over the summer, check out the Trickology Website for all the new dates from April though to December this year.

The venues are the same, at both SNO!zone Milton Keynes and SNO!zone Castleford, where we're going to be running a bunch of regular dates, with an all new Wednesday evening session once a month for those of you who that like to barbecue on a Sunday in the summer.

And as we’re still running the same great offers for returning riders, the Trickology sessions are going to be going off over this summer. Remember, SCUK Members also get a 10% refund if they pre-book and turn up with their SCUK Membership card.

From day one Maverix has been planning to move into the freestyle ski arena. That is why we named our company Maverix Snow Camp rather than Maverix Snowboard Camps. The key for us was making sure we had a solid product and the right staff to take this section of the business forward. Now with a regular series of events, we are easily able to incorporate that programme into our normal day courses.

Spaces for these sessions will be limited as we gradually build our reputation in this area. These sessions are initially planned for Hemel Snow Centre as part of our normal day course offering. The first one will be Friday 16th April.

SCUK members who are of the ski persuasion will get the normal discount.

For the 7th year Girlie Camps are arranging camps at the highly respected resort Laax. Laax has the Absolute Top Parks of Europe, hosting events like the Burton European Open and the British Open, with 3 different parks. This is the Mecca for park riding. These parks match Mammoth, Park City and others and have been featured in the Xbox game Amped several times. Riders like Shaun White and Kevin Pearce know that to be top ranked, you have to step up to it here! Free riding is ideal in neighbouring Flims, well known for steep terrain cliffs and big drops.

Your role as a Level 1 Instructor is to provide the foundations for further learning, to ensure that your students and athletes understand the fundamental principles of snowboard and can move on. Your snowboarders may range from young people destined for the Olympic Games to a senior citizen preparing for their first holiday on the snow.

Gareth Andrews, LaaxMaverix is always looking to add more value to the product line, and one aspect of that riding inspiration. We have some of the best coaches in the UK throwing down on a regular basis, but we want to add that extra dimension. Maverix is all about developing and supporting local talent, so we have secured two great local riders to hang out and have fun with our customers.

Gareth Andrews is one of the best riders in the UK. Part of the British Team and sponsored by the likes of Forum and Foursquare, he has bags of talent and is only just 17. His speciality is rails and he will be added that sweet flavour to our rail development clinics at Hemel Snow Centre on the 28th November and 9th December at Milton Keynes Sno!Zone. Our other supporter is Alice Blake. Alice is another aspiring British talent who is going places. With a great attitude and tons of motivation, she will be a great inspiration at the Maverix "Just Chicks" camps. Ride & Slide / Our Camp ‘Ride with the pros’ weeks in association with Vans™

With the 2009 winter season about to hit us, Ride & Slide are once again running their ‘ride with the pros’ week with the Our Camp crew.

The OurCamp pros will be on hand with tips and encouragement pushing all our campers to progress their freestyle skills, not only on the hill but through video analysis and after riding stretch and yoga sessions. This year will be all about riding with the professionals and seeing how they do it, getting inspired to try things you’ve always dreamed of under the watchful eye of someone that has years of professional riding under their belt. Be it tips on trying your first box, 180s, or some advice on how to get started in the world of competition, the pros are on hand to help, but above all, they’re there to have fun and provide you with a crew to have a brilliant time with.

Ride & Slide's long running association with Vans continues for this winter but with the exciting addition of OurCamp now being hooked up with Vans as well – net result = more goodies for the campers!

Our campers have been returning since the first year we commenced Our Camp. This year we’ve come up with two options for dates. There’s an early season mixed-camp (for guys & girls) for those that want to get their shred on while the powder’s falling (week commencing Sunday 17th January). Later in the season (Sunday 4th April) is the girls only camp.

Now as the business moves forward then the key for us is to provide motivation beyond our courses. We pride ourselves on our coaches being able to deliver the goods on our sessions, but can they deliver it when the pressure is on in a competitive environment?

Well, it looks like that has been proven, with Jay Streater, head coach and owner of Maverix mixing it in the Masters category and gaining a gold medal in his first competition in four years at the British Snow Tour Freestyle Championships. This win was made more sweet with a mid level placing overall beating some well know riders. So it looks like the plan is to see if he can make it on the European stage at the Brits in 2010.

In addition it was a true realisation of the impact of Maverix within the UK snowboard scene with many winners having been coached or actively involved within the Maverix team.

We've added seven more Maverix day course and one trick pony sessions to the SCUK camp calendar. Don't forget SCUK members get a discount on the Maverix camps.

This course will take through your first steps into freestyle. Whether you have been riding for a while or just a short time as long as you can happily ride down the slope, then this course if for you. We believe that, to learn and get the most from your riding you need to feel relaxed and at ease. We will endeavor to provide an open and friendly environment where your skills will flourish.

Following his retirement at the end of last season, Dan Wakeham has announced he will be working with the British Freestyle Team Head Coach, Hamish McKnight.

Together, they have created One Snowboarding, freestyle snowboard camps held in Morzine, France. These camps are for invited freestyle riders who want to push their snowboarding to the very highest levels and those public who are ready to “open your eyes and mind to the world of freestyle snowboarding”. Contributors include X-Games gold medallist Jenny Jones and double Olympian Lesley McKenna along with sponsorship from Grenade, TSA and Bawbags.

On these all-inclusive one week camps, you’ll be picked up from Geneva airport and taken to your luxurious accommodation provided by More Mountain Chalets. When not freeriding or relaxing, small group numbers ensure that clients will get Dan's undivided attention while he coaches you through a unique programme written by Hamish.

For those of you accomplished enough to receive an invite to one of their GB Freestyle Development Camps, these are strictly invite only, available to riders that have been identified as the UKs “most talented freestyle snowboarders, athletes will train in Halfpipe, Big Air and Slopestyle with a view to attain a place on the future British Freestyle Snowboard Team”. The week will include extensive use of video analysis, mental rehearsal techniques, goal setting, and biomechanics.

With these extremely fun and luxurious camps, Dan and Hamish are paving the way for riders of all levels to push their freestyle snowboarding as far as their imaginations will allow. They have one evening session per month at Tamworth Snowdome and one day session/one evening session a month at Hemel Snow Centre. This is in addition to their usual dates at Milton Keynes and Castleford.

They have also re-structured their One Trick Pony sessions to enable a progression through the season with more development of core riding skills. For many, the key to successful freestyle starts with their basic stance and their ability to manipulate their board. They'll be adding a few evening sessions through the season to keep your skills in tip top condition.

Gav Learmonth, the former British World Cup coach will be joined by British World Cup rider, Sam Cullum in Milton Keynes on the 20th and 21st June 2009. Sam will be on hand to offer you coaching tips and inspiration. This course is ideal for entry level and above freestlyle riders and anyone who just wants to give the park a try.
