Braehead SNO!storm this Friday
Posted Thursday 1st May 2008, 5:25 pm by Dunx[DIRECT LINK]

SNO!zone's infamous quarterly party, SNO!storm, returns on Friday 2nd May with a huge night to finish the winter 07/08 season in style.

SNO!storm is SNO!zone Scotland's biggest event which sees the country's hottest snowboarders showing off their skills out on the real snow slope plus DJ's playing live in the midst of the on-piste action and live music in the SNO!bar.

Tickets are selling fast with 15+ features on slope including a mammoth step down kicker, full rookie park on the lesson slope with free coaching and DJ Matt Smooth and Mr Coull laying down the tunes for an amazing night of freestyle and fun!

Finish the winter season in style by making sure you are at the event to bring the UK 07/08 season to the biggest close possible! Don't Miss Out!

Due to a change of supplier we have two kegs of Fosters & Kronenberg at £1.50 a pint in the SNO!bar.

Braehead park for Friday's SNO!storm
Posted Monday 28th April 2008, 2:51 pm by Dunx[DIRECT LINK]

Here's the park for this Friday's SNO!storm event at SNO!zone Scotland.

This weeks Kassbohrer woes continue at the moment for SNO!zone Scotland, the part (an axel) which had not arrived earlier in the week has still proved illusive. Unfortunately due to the missing part we were unable to push any snow for the park this week and can only bring you 5 rookie features.

The park crew managed to take out every feature they can and have built without much snow, the tobogganing area has also been cannibalised to create a mini jib kicker. This will not impact on next weeks SNO!storm which is shaping up to be the best yet! We have already scheduled additional push and shaping time for SNO!storm to ensure we are on schedule for a massive park. Again we apologise for the inconvenience.

Cut down park for Braehead on Thursday
Posted Wednesday 23rd April 2008, 4:13 pm by Dunx[DIRECT LINK]

SNO!zone Scotland have had to dial down the park size for this Thursday due to replacement part for our Kassbohrer being delayed in transit. This will arrive by tomorrow morning, unfortunately they will be unable to push any snow until Thursday afternoon prior to the park night starting. They will be able to build a significant number of rookie rail, box and gas pipe features for the Thursday night park and academy freestyle lessons.

The Friday night park will happen as normal and, as Bags is the one driving Thursday night, he will ensure they have significant amounts of snow pushed for the Friday park features! The full park plan will be released on Friday morning and they will be allowing the park builders to get creative for the Thursday park! Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

SNO!zone Scotland season passes
Posted Friday 7th March 2008, 1:29 pm by Dunx[DIRECT LINK]

The Braehead season pass scheme has been running for around a year, but there's many people who don't know what it's all about and what the deal is. Each SNO!zone site has a certain amount of autonomy and at the current time, it's only SNO!zone Scotland that have a season pass scheme in place, which will be available for at least the next six months and probably beyond.

Here's the word direct from SNO!zone:

SNO!zone Scotland run a special promotion on 1, 2 and 3 month season passes. These can discount your riding to as low as £4.11 a day. One month passes cost £145, two month £255 and three month passes cost £370. The Pass allows you unlimited riding or skiing at SNO!zone Scotland. Unfortunately, as this is a special promotion and not a slope time product, we are unable to offer any discounts on top of this.

That last bit basically means that SCUK members will unfortunately not get any discount on the season pass. When we next negotiate our agreement with SNO!zone, we'll certainly see whether we can have these included in the deal, but at the moment it's either a SCUK 15-20% discount at all SNO!zones on all slope time (including freestyle sessions), with the additional option of a season pass at Braehead.

Here's the SNO!zone Scotland park for tonight and Friday. It's an Airbag week.

TheAirBag.net at SNO!zone Scotland
Posted Monday 21st January 2008, 11:16 am by Dunx[DIRECT LINK]

TheAirbag.net At SNO!zone Scotland: Friday 25th Jan 7pm-11pm.

TheAirBag.net is a product that allows skiers and snowboarders to practise their freestyle manoeuvres without the fear of not making the landing! TheAirbag.net works by providing what is effectively a massive pillow of air to cushion and absorb any body falling onto it from a great height, such as snowboarders and skiers! TheAirBag.net is a training facility for those wanting to push their freestyle Snowboarding and Skiing further but the facility can also be used by beginners to further their mid-air awareness. Or you could just have a bit of fun!

Sessions are available as an add on to the existing freestyle pass for anyone aged 14 and over. Book in advance as this is extremely popular!
