Chile - McNab Freeride Clinic
Posted Thursday 11th April 2002, 11:40 am by Dunx
From Neil McNab

This camp visits two of my favourite resorts of the Southern
hemisphere, Portillo and Valle Nevado. Two very different resorts with very different feelings and great opportunities.

Located in the North of Chile around Santiago these two areas offer
some of the most modern aspects of riding whilst also hosting some of the most ancient.

This trip will run on the lines of a Freeride clinic, mixing some of
the aspects of our technical clinics with the over all feel of our Freeride camps.

During the two weeks we will cover the essential techniques that build up the basic fundamentals of snowboarding, looking at how we can blend these techniques into our surroundings, (the basis of great freeriding) and look at how to be creative within our surroundings. Following these lines we will begin to explore the more demanding terrain that the mountains here have to offer with some great Back country riding!

I will be joined on the trip by one of our regular winter (back country camp) mountain guides who will be on hand to introduce us to the possibilities that lie beyond the beaten track. With the possibilities of a heli drop or two, this will further open up some of the untracked powder fields that these two areas are rapidly becoming famous for.

So if you fancy something a little different, something a little
further a field, a run through the park a drop in the pipe and a blast through the powder without waiting for next winter then this could be the thing for you!

Hope that you can join us.
All the best,
Neil.
