A video competition to become the next Warren Miller of the snowsports world has unveiled its shortlist.
The freestyle films are the result of a competition launched by The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead, to see who could create the best freestyle video this side of the Alps. Season freestyle passes worth over £1,500 are up for grabs for the best overall video and the flick that generates the most YouTube hits.
Entrants were encouraged to showcase their originality and flair, just like on the slopes, riding the cream of the park’s features and capturing the best tricks riders have to offer. Judging the films will be The Snow Centre’s director of snowsports Pete Gillespie, The Snow Centre’s park shapers and diggers with attitude, The DWA, and renowned snowsports film maker Gendle from Lockdown Projects.
Pete Gillespie, director of snowsports at The Snow Centre, added “The quality of filming and editing the entrants have showcased has exceeded all of our expectations. We are in the process of judging the best video, but it’s up to the filmmakers to publicise their work online to win the ‘most hits’ category.
“So if you’re into freestyle, filmmaking or both, please show your support by visiting our YouTube channel to check out and comment on the videos.”
