Snozone - Slope Use
Posted Thursday 7th September 2000, 1:00 pm by Dunx
The Boarder has received more information from Healthland on how they expect the slope to be used. As we already know, uplift for the main slopes will be via Poma button lift. Healthland realise this may cause problems for less experienced boarders, but say the minimum requirement for recreational boarding and skiing is that people can use the Poma. Fairly obvious really that one! The Slope Patrol will be on hand to ensure customers do not get into difficulty and their will also be a lift attendant.

The travelator is for beginners only and will not give access to the two main slopes.

All three slopes will be separated by lovely orange alpine safety netting with the separate use of the two main slopes still under discussion.

Slope access is to be controlled by credit card sized snow passes which are charged up on payment and used to access the slope via the airlock and gain access to the lifts. It is still unclear whether your time "stops" when you leave the airlock. You get a chirpy vocal warning when it's our last run and then an equally chirpy "your pass has expired" or some such.

Recreational snowboarder only nights will have tutors on hand for informal expert advice. The slope features are yet in discussion although the phrase "fun park" is being used.

Healthland's pricing policy will remain under review. The SnoZone Website contains details of special sessions which run throughout the week. Seems there is a cheap morning session each weekday - £30 for three hours. That's more like it!

To compare SnoZone's prices, The Boarder has found information on a new slope in Nuess, Germany. This slope is 300m by 60m with a 27m drop and is still under construction. Slope prices will be between £5 and £8 per hour depending on the time of day. There's a "construction cam" if you're interested.

VargaNet has now got inside the slope and says the quality of the slope and snow is top. He gets quite dreamy in fact ;o)

The slope will be groomed using a mini Kassborrer/Kasspora Pistebully.

Finally, there may still be webcams on the slope and Healthland are in discussion with Xscape on this. Time to get yer slope side disguises oot!
