![]() James Streater from Maverix © Jools SmithA great first season for Maverix Snow Camps in the UK has resulted in a brilliant leap forward with the support of Salomon Snowboards. The Maverix team has been working tirelessly to create a professional and fun product for UK riders wanting to benefit from top end snowboard coaching, and this deal is the icing on the cake. Salomon are providing the front line team with complete setups for both the mountain and dome environments, with some extra equipment to enable guests of Maverix to benefit from testing some of the latest gear. James Streater, founder and coach said. “This deal brings home the fact that what we are doing for UK riders is on the pulse of what is needed right now. As innovators in our field we are constantly looking to improve our package for customers. This arrangement with Salomon enables up to invest even more funds in that package, yet this is just the tip of the iceberg for us in relation to strategic snowsports partnerships, as we look to broaden our horizons in 2009/2010.” Maverix is keen to produce a fun and challenging product, not a production line approach to coaching. Course numbers are kept low to enable hands on coaching and the feeling of being part of a team. This has resulted in a nearly 50% return rate, with nearly a 1/3 of all attendees being female, and over 60% being between 25 and 35 years. Yet they never like to leave out the kids, with their youngest participant this season being 6 years, and a whole clutch of teen groms, who Maverix is working closely with over the next year on the competition circuit. In addition they are expanding to the new Hemel Snow Centre in September, and look to solidify their presence in Les Deux Alpes with another summer camp in June. All the Maverix dates can be found on the SCUK Calendar. More at www.maverix.org / www.salomonsnowboard.com |
