Those of you who attended the Brits this year will have seen that Swiss resort Laax has begun construction of a spectacular new base development called ‘rocksresort’.

The apartments complex are being built to combine contemporary architecture and urban lifestyle with direct access to the slopes. The dramatic buildings are being constructed mostly from stone, glass and wood.

The new complex will add six restaurants as well as new bars and shops right in the heart of the resort and is scheduled to open in time for next season. Laax is already a SCUk favourite, but has always suffered from a lack of places to eat in the evenings. With the Brits returning for a fourth time in 2009, the event promises to be the best yet.
