McKenna Edges Closer To Podium
Posted Sunday 9th December 2001, 10:27 pm by Dunx
Britain's top competitive half-pipe rider, Lesley McKenna (27, Aviemore) achieved a fabulous 4th place last night (7/12/01) in the second womenıs World Cup of the season, improving on her 5th place in Tignes, 2 weeks ago. The Whistler event, moved from the snowless Mont St Anne at short notice, will be repeated again tonight if unstable weather patterns continue to work with the riders.

Lesley was the clear winner in the qualifying rounds, with the highest scoring run of the entire event, but dropped to 4th behind last week's winner Pederzolli of Austria and last year's series victor Sabine Wehr-Hasler of Germany. Lesley will be hoping to recreate her perfect qualifying run again in tonight's competition.

Played that girl.
