Snozone - Snowboard UK Report
Posted Wednesday 12th January 2000, 12:00 pm by Dunx
Snowboard UK magazine has an article on the new slope which is actually called Snozone (it's the complex that's called Xscape).

They will be using Salomon equipment for the hire gear and will have some 250 boards available.

The beginner slope will have a travelator depositing people at the mid and top stations of this 90m slope. It will be separate from the other two slopes.

The main slopes are 170m in length and will have three gradients; 15°, 10° and 8°.These will be serviced by that old snowboarder's groin killer; the button tow - oh good :o(

Snowblowers will be hung off the central pillars and the slope cooled at night from its normal -2° to -10° allowing a few minutes powder time in the morning!

Entry prices are currently in the £15 per hour range although final figures have not yet been agreed.

There will be 8000m2 of Ellis-Brigham/Snowboard Asylum to get lost in too.

An advert later in the magazine by Healthland is looking for the following positions (full and/or part-time) for Snozone:
  • Facilities Manager (don't bother unless you're an engineer)
  • Ski and Snowboard Instructors
  • Equipment Rental Manager
  • Snow Maintenance (another engineer's job)
  • Snow Equipment Rental
  • Slope Monitors
  • Cashiers
CV, covering letter and salary expectations by FAX to 01753 839501 or post to Andrea Blattner, Recruitment & HR Manager, Healthland Fitness International, Emmanuel House, Farmyard, Windsor, Berks, SL4 1QL and you can even tell them where you saw the free advert!
