Snozone Drag Platforms (UPD)
Posted Sunday 16th September 2001, 9:40 pm by Dunx
Snozone's use of Pomas to get you to the top of the slope causes a few problems. Like all Pomas, if left un-pisted, the tracks becomes very undulating making it difficult for beginners to ascend and thus reducing the speed at which Snozone choose to operate the drag.

But all is now being sorted as Snozone are laying wooden platforms beneath the drag lifts, topped with Dendex. This will do away with the undulation problem and let them crank the speeds of the drag lifts way up.

The park tow is now complete and they will work on the other tow in time for the school half term, which they see as their next busy period.

As part of the work, the mother kicker has been demolished and replaced by a smaller spine further up the slope. It was also mentioned that the weight of the snow was causing problems at the cinema and this may have something to do with the removal - we don't know.

UPDATE: Snozone also say that the weaving and bobbing about of the the Poma users was causing the lifts to trip and stop. So, the platforms should also reduce the number of times that the lift stops.
