We recently ran a story about about James who proposed to Nicola on the slope at Snozone in August.
But it seems that this was not the first time this has happened as we've just heard from Chris who says he beat James by 9 months. He says:
We were due to go for our annual ski/snowboard trip over New Year 2000/2001. But, unfortunately we had to cancel due to work commitments. So I schemed a bit and we stayed with my parents just outside MK for Christmas Day and Boxing Day, then the day after I took Sharon to the Snozone.
So on the 27th December, at about 2.50pm, I stopped Sharon as she came off the lift took her to the top of the middle run (the main slope back then) and asked her to marry me!
It had to be done on snow, real snow. We met on snow, I have now
proposed on snow, it even snowed the night I proposed and we now fully expect it to snow on our wedding day, 2nd Feb 2002.
Oh, by the way, she did say "yes" with minimal provocation!
Sorry to disappoint James and Nicola, but it seems he did do it
with a little more style.
It's only a matter of time before we have the first wedding on the slopes. If memory serves, then we think one was planned for the Daily Mail Show at Olympia last year, but we have no idea if it actually went ahead.
