The Sky Sports programme, ‘Wild Spirits’, caught up with Alain Baxter - Britain’s No.1 skier - at Snozone, the UK’s largest indoor real snow centre, at Xscape Milton Keynes.

Alain, fresh from his sensational season, finishing 11th in the World Cup Slalom Skiing standings, took things at a more leisurely pace on Snozone’s 170m slopes. He also enjoyed an opportunity to spend time with his cousin, pro-snowboarding champion Lesley McKenna fresh from her even more sensational season, finishing 3rd place in the World Half Pipe standings.
When asked for his impressions of Snozone, Alain commented
It’s fantastic, just like the real thing. With its two recreational slopes and a dedicated lesson slope it’s a great all year round facility for winter sports enthusiasts and beginners alike.
Much to the delight of on-lookers Alain gave an awesome display of his talent, proving why he is Britain’s highest achieving Slalom skier to date.

The first of four showings of the programme, ‘Wild Spirts’, is scheduled for broadcast at 5.00pm on Friday 24 August 2001, on Sky Sports 2.
