Official words from Snozone regarding their rather good Big Air comp.
SNOZONE TAKES A BREATHER AFTER BIG TRICKS, BIG AIR AND BIG PRIZES EVENT

Last weekend, on Saturday 14 July 2001, Snozone at Xscape, Milton Keynes held the first ever “Snozone Big Air Competition". What was billed as one of the most prestigious UK big air events of the year, did not disappoint spectators or riders including snowboarders, skiers, and skiboarders.
Roars of approval echoed throughout Snozone as some of the biggest names in snow sports did their stuff, taking off from the giant table top jump, created especially for the event on the UK's largest indoor real snow slope. Avid snow sports fans turned up in droves to watch hot pro-riders such as Tim Warwood, Johno Verity, Elliot Neave, Glenn Parsons and Pat Sharples take to the slopes, to compete for big cash prizes. With over 80 entrants in the competition, crowds were treated to an afternoon and evening of exhilarating displays of talent and expertise - and the occasional spectacular ‘wipe out’!
Alain Baxter, Britain's world class slalom skier and ambassador for snow sport sponsors Drambuie, was spectating for a change, soaking up the après-ski atmosphere in the Sno Bar and at the Snozone post-event party. With a string of World Cup successes in his pocket, Alain is currently training in the UK in preparation for the forthcoming competitive season.
As ever, the action packed day ended on the podium. There were no surprises, only cheers, when Glenn Parsons was announced as the Super Final Winner due to his huge corked 720 jump. Glenn reaped not only the spectators respect but also a weekend trip to the ‘G-Shock Air and Style’, held in Seefeld courtesy of Tirol Tourist Board and Buzz Airlines. He also scooped £200 from the Snozone prize-winners purse for finishing first in the male pro-ski category.
All the remaining categories, made up from pro’s to am’s, males to females, were handed cash prizes and bulging goodie bags full of sponsors’ products. A deserved reward for their excellent efforts throughout the day.
Nicci Griffiths, Marketing Manger at Snozone, said; “What a fantastic day. This is the best event we’ve ever held at Snozone. Congratulations to all the riders who took part in the competition. Well done and thank you to the Snozone team who worked so hard to make today a great success.”
“It’s no surprise that we’ve welcomed over one million visitors to Snozone since the doors opened last year. I hope that we’ve inspired everyone here today to come back and try it out for themselves. We can’t wait until the next competition, which is scheduled for Saturday 6 October 2001.”
