Snozone - Change Of Times For Friday Boarding (Vote)
Posted Monday 2nd July 2001, 11:31 am by Dunx
In a disasterous move that is going to affect a huge number of Snozone's customers, Snozone have decided to change the start time of their three hour Friday night boarding session from 8pm to 7pm.

"Hold on a minute!", I hear you cry. "I can't get there by 7 o'clock."

They recently reduced the Friday session prices so it is better value for money, launched their membership scheme (although I've yet to meet anybody who's joined) and built a rather good park. Now they ensure that a large proportion of their snowboarding customers won't actually be able to make the beginning of the best session of the week. Our recent poll reveals that more than 50% of our readers will travel two or more hours to get to indoor snow. Leaving at 4.30pm and battling through Friday rush hour traffic to get there in good time for the session is not something that people are going to able to do regularly. It's those very keen boarders that this decision is going to affect.

Reception say the reason is down to grooming. Apparently they need to groom the slope, else it turns to ice. Fine, but er... just groom it an hour later guys. Grrrr!

Snozone say:

The reason for bringing the session forward was in response to customer feedback that they wanted to come off the slope and have some time in the Sno Bar which currently shuts at 11pm until we manage to get a bar extension. My understanding is that folks like to come off the slope and go for a beer just like they do out on the real mountain (I know I do!) We do not have a dress code (unlike some of the other bars and restaurants in Xscape) so our customers don't have to worry about dressing up to go for a drink afterwards - they can just cruise upstairs to the Sno Bar and chill.

I appreciate this might cause problems for some of our customers but in pleasing those who come from further away we are not pleasing those who like to have a drink after their slide. So, at the mo' we are caught between a rock and a hard place! However, customer feedback on the change of session time will be welcomed and reviewed before making any further changes.
