Film Up 2005 – The Snowboard Amateur Festival is in its 5th year! January 5th, 2005 It’s getting bigger and bigger but stays authentic – Film Up. How comes? Obviously it’s the people involved. Riders, actors, friends, the boarder community. All of them have one thing in common. They are young and creative people that film their most favoured leisure activity, wrap it in a story and show it to a big audience at events that are the perfect mixture of show and party. Film Up events are definitely happenings! Like the years before, Burton is one of the main partners of Film Up. Ivar Fougstedt, Marketing Director of Burton: „We are partner and fan of Film Up right from the start and still we are fully backing the idea Film Up stands for. We are really happy to see so many creative people, that film their ideas and join the competition. We will proudly welcome the international winners at our summercamp, where they will have the possibility to film with the Burton team riders!“ Austria, Germany, Switzerland: Film Up! In Austria, Germany and Switzerland, Film Up 2005 will be present with 4 national premiers in each country. There, the movies will be shown for the first time. The three best flicks out of each premiere will enter the national finals. And if the fans, the audience and the jury at the national finals are still enthusiastic about your film, you earned yourself a ticket to the international finals in June 2005. Before that, the qualified crews are invited for one week to the „Suzuki Crew Support“, where they get a budget and a free Suzuki car to do some extra work on their films for the Grand Finale. Great Prizes The winner of the „Best Movie Award“ gets the Red Bull Film Up Scholarship: A budget of EUR 5.000,- for his/hers first professional production plus a 3 chip camera and a production workshop. The best rider out of all films also gets an amazing prize, the „Oakley Best Rider Award“. Like the last years, the judging will be done by professionals of the snowboard media business and industry. Requirements Being part of Film Up 2005 is really easy. All you need is to hand in a film of maximum 5 minutes length, taped on Mini DV. Deadline for Austrian productions is February 4th 2005! For more information please see www.filmup.at! Since December, the teams can sign up on www.filmup.at. For the first time there is a internet voting on www.filmup.at that gives all crews the chance to earn two direct tickets to the international finals. This is also a perfect opportunity to go for the main prize for all crews that didn’t get a place or cannot attend an event physically. All you have to do is make as much people vote for you as possible. Astonishingly many girl crews already signed up. Their films are, like all other flicks, in the normal competition but will also be judged in a category of their own. A special prize is waiting for the best girl crew: One week of surfing at a surfcamp in Hossegor, France, in summer 2005!
