I guess this is a press release from us... October 2004 marks the start of winter and with it, the launch of UK’s first membership service for all snowboard enthusiasts; Snowboard Club UK (SCUK). Finally there is a club that will cater for the needs of the thousands of snowboarders in the UK. Snowboard Club UK will bring snowboarders everything they need to ride, whether that’s for powder in the mountains or their local dry slope. Through www.SnowboardClub.co.uk, members and non-members alike, will be able to access the most comprehensive snowboard information the UK has to offer with the latest news, UK slope directory and a packed events calendar, as well as chat on the forum, learn from the how to’s, enter competitions and much more. As an initiative between Duncan Worrell of TheBoarder.co.uk and partners Stuart Brass and Spencer Claridge of Soul Sports, Snowboard Club UK will be at the forefront of UK snowboarding. Their mission is to bring together all that the scene and industry have to offer and create a one stop shop for all snowboard enthusiasts who share a passion for snowboarding, whether they are amateurs, professionals, families, oldies or youngsters. TheBoarder.co.uk has thousands of people subscribing to its newsletter and up to 3,000 unique visitors a day. During the first week of October, TheBoarder.co.uk will begin the transformation into www.SnowboardClub.co.uk, where all previous content and much more will be eventually be hosted. Duncan Worrell, editor of TheBoarder says of the new Snowboard Club, "TheBoarder website was launched in 1997 and has grown to become Europe's favourite snowboard website. It has always had one clear goal - to serve the interests of UK snowboarders. Teaming up with Stuart Brass and Spencer Claridge, creates a great team. SCUK will combine their knowledge of the UK snowsports industry with TheBoarder's fantastic customer base, allowing us to more actively and effectively serve the interests of UK snowboarders and provide benefits that TheBoarder could not have hoped to provide alone. In becoming SCUK, the evolution of TheBoarder continues." Joining the Snowboard Club UK will cost £25 Junior (Under 18s), £30 Adult (18 or over), £70 Family* (2 adults, 2 Juniors). Upon joining, members will receive over £100 worth of free gifts:
