Skiing on 4 this coming weekend comes from Adelboden, in Switzerland, which hosts a some top class Slalom and Giant Slalom action.
Nick Fellows will be on the piste and in the studio with a series of top ranked guests, as Channel 4 brings you another 7 hours of top class winter sports action throughout the week.
Friday We begin the weekend with a look back at last weeks epic Downhill and
Super G races from Garmisch. With Stefan Eberharter and Herman Maier both hitting top form, the scene was set for a classic showdown.
Saturday mornings show comes from Adelboden, where Nick will be previewing a great weekends action that features both Slalom and Giant Slalom. This could be a good weekend for Alain Baxter as he looks to win back his place in the worlds top thirty. Brother Noel also goes. By way of a change, we take a look at the battle in Moguls, where Kari Traa is getting back into the thick of the action after falling behind surprise early season leader Jenifer Heil. Also, just who is the top nation in winter sports, the Swiss, the Austrians? Think again, as we look at Finland’s finest.
Sunday’s programme takes an in-depth look at Saturday’s Giant Slalom, won last year by Austria’s Hans Knauss.
Wednesday night again takes a look at what’s happening in Snowboard. We travel to Arosa to catch up with the latest Boardercross action. There is more parallel Slalom action from A’lpe D’Huez and moguls from Tremblant, Canada
Thursday brings us the second round of competition from the Ski Jumping World Cup in Zakopane, Poland. The scenes are extraordinary as Poland’s top sportsman Adam Malysz appears in front of his adoring home fans. 60,000 were there to watch, an estimated 50,000 were turned away. Cross Country action comes from Marcialonga in Italy.
This weeks’ competition offers viewers the chance to win a trip to check out Adelboden for themselves. One lucky viewer and friend, will get a 7 night holiday in one of Switzerland’s most attractive snow sports regions, with flights, transfers, accommodation with half-board and lift passes.
