A Canadian study reveals that snowboarders are more likely to seriously damage their noddle than skiers. In North America many see it inevitable that helmets will one day be compulsory on the slopes. With the recent death of a young Canadian, that debate is once again in full swing. Do helmets do any good? In Europe, the use of helmets has been much more relaxed, but with lids becoming more of a fashion item than a few season's back, we wonder how long it will be before they become the norm. There's also a great site on snowboarding injuries here. Be safe out there (and don't show this article to your Mum). |
