Milton Keynes Snozone had previously been given the go ahead by the Health and Safety Executive to run with around 250 slope users as a maximum. At the time Snozone were reported to have thought this figure was fairly high and that maximum numbers would actually be set by customer satisfaction.
Snozone have decided that some of the sessions are getting a little too crowded. To better guarantee customer satisfaction they have set the maximum number of slope users at 65 per slope.
The Boarder has also managed to get the official names for the three slopes. We had thought about running a competition for some unofficial names (and may still do so if Snozone want to front the prizes - hint ;o)
- The Feature Slope
- This is the left hand slope as you look up, which will eventually incorporate the semi-permanent fun park.
- The Middle Slope
- Imaginatively named, this is the middle of the three slopes which sometimes has slalom poles set up.
- The Lesson Slope
- The short, right hand slope which should only be used if you are having lessons. This implies that if there are no lessons, only 130 slope users will be allowed in.
We'd also like to quash a little untruth The Boarder was putting about a few months back - we didn't believe the slope was really 170m in length. Since that time, we've had a chance to measure it extremely accurately...
21 wall panels, each of length 5 Burton Canyon 62s (actually 161.5cm) gives an amazing 169.575m! It's still too narrow though.
