The Boarder has heard a few juicy tidbits about Snozone recently, so we thought it was about time we sorted out the truth from the fibs. This is directly from Snozone, official-like:
Discount For Own KitAlthough we've heard this from several sources including from a receptionist at Snozone, it is unfortunately complete tosh. Snozone have no plans to make people who can't be bothered to buy their own kit, pay for it separately. Our December 2000 poll makes it fairly clear that people with their own kit don't particularly like paying to subsidise those that don't. Perhaps one day justice will prevail.
Trees On The SlopeApparently there's a lovely Nordman Fir on the slope as I type. This was erected (if you'll forgive the expression) for Christmas and as an experiment. It's located just up from the Middle Slope poma. Unfortunately, certain groups of people who shall remain nameless, but let's just say they were carrying poles, knocked several buckets of the proverbial out of the tree. This caused loads of needles to end up in the snow which was not really the desired effect. Snozone may look into using a high quality imitation tree in the future.
Dendix Under The PomaThis will happen as and when to smooth the ride to the top.
No set date as yet.
Fun ParkAlthough never really a rumour, Snozone are still putting together proposals for the features and how they are going to be constructed.
The current features are apparently solid snow. There had been reports in the papery board rags that they contained polystyrene blocks - not true say Snozone - they were created using the Kassbohrer and a few shovels.
No dates on the new funpark as yet.
We have a whole load more too, but we'll save that for some news items over the next few days.
