Congratulations to British rider Ryan Davis who teamed up with Document SNOWBOARD photographer Natalie Mayer last week in Leysin for the Nescafe Rookie Magazine Contest. The photography competition, which involved a hectic 2 days of one-on-one shooting for rider and photographer, finished with a slide show which was judged by riders at the Nescafe Open Snowboard Champs. Nat and Ryan won the comp, alongside the Onboard photographer Pat Vermuelen and French rookie Emilien Badoux.

Unfortunately, as you can see from the shots, on that fateful 'last hit before lunch' Ryan utterly caned himself, earning himself a broken elbow and a tasty Harry Potter scar on his forehead.

Ryan will have to sit it out for about 3 months and is pretty bummed about having to miss the rest of the winter, but he’ll be back for the summer.
