We've had an email from Paul who says:

I live in Beckton and am happy to say that someone has actually been to the site and fixed all the boarding around the site leaving the possibilties open more more work soon, hopefully!

We've still not heard from the developers about the news they hinted at back in December, but this small movement at the construction site would suggest that the development may be starting to ramp up again.
