Snozone - Contaminated Snow
Posted Friday 3rd November 2000, 12:00 am by Dunx
During an attempt to check the extent of the damage to the roof of Xscape, we hear that a couple of maintenance staff accidentally discharged antifreeze chemicals both over themselves and the slope. They were taken to hospital, but have subsequently been discharged.

The Health and Safety Executive then closed the slope until all the contaminated snow was cleared. This would explain why the re-opening date changed from Tuesday 31st October to Monday 6th November. The next Health and Safety inspection is on the 6th and the slope will only re-open if they are happy that the slope is safe for use.

Snozone seem to be confident that the slope will re-open then. We hope so as we've just booked for the following Friday boarder's night.
