The AIM Series isn't all about the snowboarding competitions. Whilst there is a competive element to the Series, they also hope to encourage new people into the sport. As part of this the series has been touring schools local to the competition events and hit Scotland last week ably supported by some of the biggest names in UK snowboarding Jenny Jones, Hamish McKnight, Gary Greensheilds, Elliot Neave, Ed Leigh and Stu Brass.
The tour is all about spreading the message about snowboarding in general. Hopefully this will aid the growth of the sport and participation of snowboarding into the school curriculum.
They are also offering 600 free 30-45 minute lessons to all kids under the age of 18 on the Saturday of each event with the aim of getting 150 newbie boarders hooked at each event. Even if it's not for them (unlikely we know) then they'll each walk away with an O'Neill Goody Bag just for having a go.
