Brighton lad Chris Burrows is bringing winter sports to the seafront when he opens a nursery snow slope at Brighton Marina on Monday, 24 June 2002. Chris's love of snowboarding and his aspirations for the next generation of winter sports champions gave him the idea of bringing the slopes to Brighton this summer for the kids. Tobogganing fun is first in the line up on the miniature man-made slope. Kids can whizz down on plastic toboggans or specially designed tyres under the watchful eyes of Chris and his snowboarding mates. Chris (31) explains: "I want to give all kids a taste of winter sports without the expense. It's not about the money, its about having fun and luckily for us Brighton Marina understands that. "And who knows, when we move on to beginner snowboarding lessons for children during the school summer holidays, we might even encourage a future champion." ![]() Time/Date: 10am - Monday, 24 June 2002 Location: Brighton Marina Contact: Chris Burrows/Val King website: brightonboarders.co.uk email: info@brightonboarders.co.uk |
