Ended up going for the standard TAG annual worldwide policy.

Called them up and they confirmed:

- Wintersports (17 days) is included in the annual policy
- Park is still included
- Off Piste is still included (guided or group with 3 people with phones)

Asked them about North America Inbounds/out bounds and the nice lady said that in NA all in bounds is considered on piste.

Sure enough, got my policy document and schedule through by email and all of the above is included exactly as she explained (with the exception of inbounds/outbounds which isn't mentioned).

The limits in terms of snowboard kit etc are more than adequate for me (£2500 total, £500 single item limit) and 17 days also more than I'll be out of the country riding in any one year. Those seem to be the two major differences between the standard and SCUK policy from last year that I can see.

Sure enough, extending to 31 days wintersports cover raised the premium by ~50%, so I removed that and stuck with 17 days.

£144 for me and the missus, total, Annual worldwide including North America. £45 less than last year, so all in content enough with that in the absence of an SCUK policy at present.

I don't know what's going on. Every day I'm told it'll happen tomorrow.

It's sort of irrelevant as all premiums have rocketed over recent years. We found out we were really, really cheap... which was part of the reason we had to stop running it as the underwriters were losing money. We'll be with somebody completely new, with a different policy wording, amounts and clauses. The aim is to create something new in the industry, which is super flexible and properly caters for more than just winter sports. As always we're aiming for an excellent policy, not just a punters policy. Fingers crossed for today's meeting.

Stu/Dunx any news as it's now been a while since the expected launch date.

I'll point Stu at this as the new insurance is his responsibility.

I can't tell you how frustrating insurance companies have been (and I've spoken with a lot this year). The company I met above all sounded great and understood what we were looking to create only to resubmit their offer as an off the shelf policy!
I'm now in discussions with a company (whom i actually have my own travel policy with) and the signs are good.

Sorry this is taking longer than we'd have hoped, so if you need a policy urgently then please don't wait around for us. However if you can hang on then we'll have something live for the start of the season for sure and we'll hope to offer a quality policy that actually covers you for what you do! (a lot don't!)

Thanks for your patience
Stuart

Sorry no news yet, but from looking at pretty much every policy available on the market I would definitely read the small print!
Bash isn't until January so plenty of time
