Terms & Conditions of Membership v1.0

1. General
Snowboard Club Ltd (SCUK) of B5, Enterprise Point, Melbourne St, Brighton, BN2 3LH owns and operates this membership. For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions "Club", "We", "Our" and "Us" refers to SCUK. Please review these Terms and Conditions carefully before joining this club. Your payment of membership indicates your agreement to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

It is strictly one membership per person.

2.Data Protection

Any personal information you supply to us when you use this Web site will be used in accordance with Our Privacy Policy.

3. Refunds and Returns
You have the right to cancel your membership within 7 days of the receipt of your membership pack. We will only provide full refunds on membership of the Club. You must return the whole of your membership pack in good condition, with all membership cards included. If you paid by credit/debit card, the same card will be credited. If you paid by cheque, we will either return your cheque if it has not yet been presented or send a cheque drawn on our own accounts.

Items may be returned by you and will be replaced by us, should the product prove to be faulty or supplied incorrectly.

See our Contact details for the address to which items can be returned.

4. Membership Cancellation
SCUK reserves the right to cancel your membership at any time. This will normally be because you have infringed this agreement in some way, provided misleading/fraudulent information when you applied for membership or payment for your membership has not been received. We will always attempt to contact you to clarify the reasons for membership cancellation. SCUK are under no obligation to offer refunds on cancelled memberships, although we may choose to do so.

5. Membership Fee and Membership Status
Membership commences upon receipt of payment and lasts for one year, after which time the membership will cease to be valid.

Various types of membership are available at different rates - Junior, Adult and Family. Full details of these are shown at the time of application.

SCUK operates a number of discount schemes on the cost of our own membership, that may give up to 100% off the cost of joining. These discounts make use of a two part code. This code must be entered when an application for membership is made. Discounts cannot be applied to a membership retrospectively.

Two methods of payment are available when joining SCUK. When paying online, your membership will become active straight away. When paying by cheque, we need to wait for your cheque to arrive before we can make your membership active. If we have any concern over the nature of any payments made, we reserve the right to set the status of your membership back to a status of "pending payment", whilst we investigate further.

Your membership can be in one of several states:
Non-member
You are not currently a member. Note that you need to be logged in to the website for your membership status to be displayed correctly.

Incomplete
You have started the application, but have yet to complete the application and select how to pay.

Pending
You are not yet a member, because we are waiting for your payment. If paying online you are unlikely to see this membership status.

Member
You are a member of SCUK.

Due
You are a member of SCUK, but this is a reminder that you need to renew your membership soon. You become "due" when your membership expires in 30 or fewer days.
Expired
You are no longer a member, but we know who you are, so if you join up again it should be a little easier to complete the forms.

Our system will automatically delete incomplete and pending membership applications that are 30 days old.

6. Reminders
We send out reminders by email. You will get a reminder of an incomplete or pending membership application when they are 10 and 20 days old. You will be sent a renewal reminder 30, 20 and 10 days before your membership expires. For family memberships, reminders are only sent to the person who made the application. It is not sent to other family members with a SCUK Login.

7. Contacting You
We mainly use email to contact you. When you apply for membership, we ask for two postal addresses. One for letters and an optional second address for packages, because we realise that there may not always be somebody available to take in packages, such as the membership pack, at your home address. We may also need to contact you by telephone or mobile should we need to do so in a hurry. Please make sure all your contact details are kept up-to-date.

Note: When paying online it is important that the address given to WorldPay matches the issue address of your credit/debit card. This need not be either of the addresses you provide to us. If WorldPay identifies any discrepencies with your payment, they may still authorise the payment, but may send us a "Caution" or "Warning". This will cause us to set your membership back to "pending" and will delay the delivery of your membership pack, whilst we make additional checks on the payment.

8. Family Memberships
A family membership is "owned" by the joining user. The membership pack will be sent to the joining member.

9. Membership Cards
Membership cards are issued to every joining member. For family memberships, each family member is issued with their own unique card. These membership cards need to be signed when they are received and are not valid until they are signed. Membership cards include identifying information and they (and the information they contain) should be used only by the SCUK member to whom it was issued. Membership cards are not transferable.

Membership cards can be used to prove that you are a SCUK member. Your membership details may also be made available online, in a secure format, to our partners so that they can verify your SCUK membership when the card is not available to them. The information available to our partners is detailed in more detail in our Privacy Policy.

If your card is lost or stolen, you can request a new card, but we will charge £5+VAT for each replacement requested. We reserve the right not to issue a replacement card for any reason. Look after them.

Membership cards remain the property of SCUK. We may ask you to return or destroy membership cards if your membership is cancelled.

10. Membership Packs
The membership pack will contain your membership card(s).

The membership pack will contain the gifts and sale items that you selected when you made your membership application. In the event of us running out of stock and our system not reflecting this, we will contact you to arrange an alternative gift or sale item.

Gifts cannot be exchanged for cash, other products or services.

In most cases the gifts you select when you apply for membership are free, but in some cases we ask you to contribute a small amount towards the cost of the "gift".

We offer you the chance to buy additional items at the time you apply for membership. These sale items are made available at a substantial discount and the quantities you are able to purchase is limited.

Different quantities of both gift and sale items are available to different types of memberships. These quantities and the additional costs of gift items and the cost of sale items, are clearly displayed on the application forms.

We reserve the right to include additional free gifts in your membership pack at our discretion.

Some gifts have conditions attached to their use. These are summarised on the application forms, but the details presented on our Membership Pack page regarding gifts and sale items, remains the definitive description associated with each.

11. Discounts
A variety of discounts are available to members only. Please refer to our Membership Discounts for more information.

Where special web links exist to gain discounts with partners, they are only shown on the above discount pages when you are logged in. Any other links to SCUK partners found on the website may or may not be to these "special web links", unless they are specifically stated as such.

You are in breach of these terms should you share any of these special web links with any other party, whether you believe they are members of SCUK or not. People should always be referred to the discount pages.

SCUK cannot be held responsible for the goods and services of our partners.

If you believe that you have been charged the wrong amount with respect to SCUK partners, when you have followed the special link to their website, you should contact our partner in the first instance.
