| Alroight Dunx. Fraid there was another "Problem with database connection" this arvo - prob only a few minutes I would guess, around abouts 13:15 or so. |

It's not an Apache error, it's a database connection error, so an issue with mySQL somewhere. |

I hit this again today, not sure if it affected anybody else.
Anyway, we've moved our database server, so that might solve the problem. Let me know if you see the dreaded "Problem With Database Connection" error. |

| I've been seeing this database connection a lot over the past few days and have only just came across this thread by chance. assumed it was updates or something. |

Yes, it's started again. It has been sorted for some time. It may be the increased traffic we're getting as the season ramps up in combination with the regular processing of the product feeds for the SCUK Shop.
Was down for about 30 mins yesterday, so host monkeys called in. Do post here if you see it as I'm not always on the site and it's good to know where people get it.
For the tech-minded, the issue is caused as there's not enough concurrent connections available to the database. It's currently set to 500, which should be enough by an order of magnitude, so there is a bit of head scratching going on. Could be Google spidering the site too as Google seems to do this very regularly as the site is updated so frequently; you can find stuff from SCUK on Google the hour it was posted sometimes. |
