Just gone and bought mybfirst board, but now wondering if I've gone too short...
I'm 5' 10", and around 78kg (ahem, about 12 & a bit stone...), been riding in domes for around a year and hopefully gonna be going on my first holiday later on this year. Have been "given" 158's when renting boards at the domes, and the other week when I did my first Maverix course, tried out a 155, which was a lot more fun.
Just been and demo'd an Artec AltRocker and was given the choice of a 152 & 156, felt brave and went for the 152. Took a couple of runs to get used to it, as it was a lot more lively than I'm used to, but after that I started getting used to it, and had a real good chuckle on it - so much so that I ended up walking out of there with it....
But now I'm wondering if I should've gone for the 156... Am I over thinking it? Should I just stick with it as I was feeling comfortable with it??
Answers on a post card please..... |

| Shouldn't be a problem lots of people ride shorter boards in the domes and like fergal says you can always get a longer board for powder. Don't worry about it just go out and enjoy your board. |

| I agree you'll b fine. I ride a 154 Apo camber ltd edition board, and this year took a 146 Nug to Austria, and was fine on all conditions and surfaces, including 2ft of powder, and I'm 5'10" and 95kg plus gear. |

Cheers for the advice lads - just wondered if it'd be a bit too short on icy groomers or a bit of powder if I felt brave when I eventually get away...
It's supposed to be a freestyle orientated "all-mountain" board, and just figured if I'll mainly be riding it in UK indoor domes (and a trip or too over to Snowworld over in Landgraaf) then I'd get the most use out of the shorter board. And if it is a bit too wild when I get out onto a resort, then I can always rent a longer board... |

I'm 5'8 and 12.5 st. I ride a 153 lib t rice in powder and get loads of float (has an effective edge close to a 156 normal board). I have just started using a 151 lib box scratcher in dome and it is soooo much fun!
Whatever works for you I would say. |

| It all depends what you are using it for.. if you want it for powder, then you may find it tricky and very hard work to stay "afloat", but if it's just for fun and park, then it's fine! |

It's all about what you like the feeling of to be honest.
I'm 6ft1, 14 stone and have a 167 for POW, a 161 for all mountain and a 157 for park.
I used to think that maybe I should have gone shorter for the park board but I like the feel of it and so it's not really a concern. |
