Aye I'm sure it's easy enough, just something new I need to get used to having only ever used the button lifts at CFe.
Cheers for the tips, I've been watching plenty of YouTube vids of pile ups and other accidents so hopefully I can avoid those situations! I don't mind looking stupid as long as I don't hurt myself too badly, or anyone else.
I'm sure I'm not as rubbish as I'm sounding right now. |

| Its even more fun to watch the advanced riderz of our group to fall on the lift. Usually after u just held them to get ur balanceand they promptly fell as u let go of them |

| The one about the Hoff, is that fortunately, there are not too many T bar or Poma lifts which is always a good thing. Them bad boys can be a mission ! |

If you are a beginner, try to sit on the far left or far right seat. That way when you get to the top you can skate off to the side. If you are in the middle you are forced to go straight on which can be quite nerve wracking when you are new. If you don't go straight on when you are in a middle seat you generally end up taking people out next to you, so stick to the side seats and it will ease you in more gently |

And never get on a chairlift with Harry, unless you like your pizzas with extra jalapeños! |

| Sit on the outside of the lift, if you sit on the inside, u could potentially not go fast enough with the seat hitting smacking into your side.. there have been a couple of incidents like that. |

And always lift your leg up (45 degrees) that is still in your bindings so it doesn't catch on something while you are still on the ground in the chair, and again as you reach the drop off point. - Be relaxed when you raise the bar at the top and firmly place your rear foot into the stomp pad to act as your rear bindings while the chair drops you off. - Glide down the short ramp and come to a controlled stop.
If you do fall over, close your hands and shuffle to the edge and look back towards the next chair coming to the drop off point. if the lift attendant sees you he will either stop the lift system, slow down the lifts or do nothing. Assume he will just do nothing!
MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY LOOSE ENDS ON RUCKSACKS THAT MAY CATCH THE CHAIR OR THE LIFT SYSTEM.
Sorry for the shout but people have died because of this. |

Don't wear board pants with big dangly braces that look great but have massive potential to catch on lift gates / lifts/everyfeckingthing
I also second Dunx' advice about lift partners...much as I love Harry he's a menace on lifts |

For example, board leashes. The Devil's own work. I have been caught by a board leash in my youth and more recently a lose strap on my backpack. Ultimately the strap lost to gravity, something at which I excel at. |
