As you all know, all the details have now firmed up for the 2012 SCUK Winter Bash to Mayrhofen in February.

www.snowboardclub.co.uk/events-wb12.html

One of the highlights is the SCUK Bash Dash, which although optional, isn't optional! We expect everybody to enter a race for the last run on the last day, throwing caution to the wind!

This will be the 3rd year of the SCUK Bash Dash, which has seen the male and female winners walk away with a rather smart "Fist of Nuff Respect" trophy. There is no "second place", only "first loser".

This year, rather than pop to the local trophy shop at the last minute, we're actually hand making two custom trophies for the winners. We'll keep you informed on progress, but rest assured these will take pride of place in your trophy cabinet next to your 20m swimming badge and cycling proficiency certificate.

Previous winners
2010 Dave Oldacre (Pocket) // Dawn Craig (figureitout)
2011 Paul Lampon (Prive) // Dawn Craig (figureitout)

Wow see Dawn has to come along to make it 3 years in a row!

Im sure Paul will fight hard to defend his title, especially as I have heard just how awesome that new trophy is going to be - its got a reputation to live up to now!

So this year is a "expect" to enter, oh dear, better get some more magic potion hey.

Please don't be tempted to start making plaster casts of anything other than your fist.

You obviously don't remember the "Claridge Cock" that used to be awarded at the Union Awards back in the day for services to snowboarding.

Can I request we choose a run without the snow cannons on this year? Wink

There is Lego involved in the trophy? For that, I must win!

This time I might have to a) Ride the run at least once beforehand and b) try not to set off last despite using contrabands Laughing

Nuff Respec' for sculpting the Fist Trophy Dunx.

The Claridge Cock was supposedly a clever slant on the traditional Carriage Clock gift for loyal service. Seems a bit tenuous now, but what a cock it was... finely buffed marble and with a slight lean to the left... exquisite workmanship.

Only trouble is I have small girly hands and I too am not overly comfortable with having a model of my fist out there in the public domain!

It's not just a cast though... watch this space!

I would suggest the Harakiri run – at 78º at it's steepest angle it should be interesting!

http://youtu.be/E_YJwYs5WAs

Though do you choose to go fast and risk falling over, or slow and steady and make it to the bottom?

And don't forget to pack that GPS - should get up some serious speed Wink
