For all info about Les Arcs snow conditions, weather, what to do, where to go, best party spots etc by those that spend the seasons there. Enjoy!!

As there are normally quite a few people coming out to Les Arcs, is anyone interested in having our own party week or weekend in Les Arcs. Arranging places to stay and other stuff should be ok if you give me enough notice. All you need to do is book your flights, I can do the rest or we can just arrange to meet for riding, whatever you like.
Go to the facebook group page and add a post in the discussion section for meeting up if you are interested and I can take it from there.

First real snow of the winter is starting to settle in Les Arcs this week. More coming tonight and over the next few days they say. IF you have any questions about Les Arcs post them here and I will try to give you an answer.
Get in quick - discounted season passes on sale at Edenski La Plagne office for the whole paradiski area but they finish on the 15 November.

Staying in Bourg is not a problem. It is 7 - 10 min on the funi to get to the first chair and if the snow is really good you can ride half way down on the way home.
There are quite a few seasonaires staying in bourg, it is much cheaper to live down there. The beer is cheaper and so is the food. They have most thimgs you would expect in a town. Depends where you stay as to how far you must walk or go on the bus to get to the funi. Hope that helps. |

| Looks very bleak up there today. Not much snow below 2500m, but the weather is suppose to close in now for a few days with snow forecast so here's hoping. One month to go so we do need that base to start forming now. |

I've stayed in Bourg everytime I've been to Les Arcs. It's great for Season accommodation and is still useful for a Holiday (1 - 2 weeks) if you are on a budget.

Getting up to Les Arcs isn't really the issue, you simply walk to the Funi which runs three times an hour (more so if its really busy) and that takes you to 1600 and you have access to all the chairs from there.
It does mean that often you will have to make sure you get to the Funi on time, as it's annoying having to wait 20 minutes if you get there just as it's leaving the station!
The good things about Bourg is that you have proper supermarkets and a Lidl, which is really cheap. Up in the resorts, they have small mock-supermarkets which are expensive. Most people doing a season in the resorts will come down on the Funi to shop in Bourg.
It's also a nicer environment in the Spring as you have a large lake and park area which is great for Fires/BBQs when it starts getting warmer.
You also will most likely get to know a lot of the other British seasonaires who are staying in Bourg.
The only real downsides are....
The last Funi down the mountain is at like 9:30pm. So it's annoying if you are doing Apres, as you have to make sure you don't miss it. Likewise, you can't go up after this time. So in order to go out to the proper bars and clubs in the resorts, you need to either have somewhere to stay up there, somebody driving or book a taxi (which is crazy expensive).
Bourg itself doesn't have much going in the way of nightlife.
Most of the restaurants close quite early. There are really only two bars worth going to, one of which (The Spot) is usually always dead.
For a season, I'd recommend it, though it's not like staying in a ski town in a place say like Morzine. |

| Are the roads usually clear up and down? I like going out but not really a drinker so staying sober to drive aint a problem for me. Or do you think other seasonaires will gather In Bourg for socialising. |

An update on the snow conditions today.
Just had a quick look at all the webcams, I know, very sad. It looks like the snow line is about down to 1000m today, but very wet. Just a little bit of snow settled on the street by George's Wine Bar up in Arc 1950. It is good having the webcam pointing straight at his place. Think we need a lot more before the 11th Dec. I am SURE we will be ok.
R1ch: good discription of Bourg. Not sure what the time of the last Funi will be this winter, talk of running it a little later. We will have to wait an see.
The Central Bar is ok late, and has pool tables downstairs. There is the Italian bar which has live music sometimes, as do a few others including Bazooms most Friday evenings. There are loads of places to eat out and the'Fast Food bar' stays open really late. This winter if it is finished there will be a bowling alley and new cinemas in Bourg. Plus there is the indoor swimming pool.
anthonyexmouth: the roads are kept clear but you will need chains sometimes if you do not have winter tyres. In Bourg people tend to either get down, have a quick beer, go hom eat then hit a bar or stay up the mountain and get the last funi down |

I was hoping to know any up to date tracks which are good on the la plagne side.
i will be in la plagne 1800 chalet marine.
