anyway yeah, no syrup for me this time though
Just done some research and it'd be euro star to Lille or Paris then a change to Cluses or thanon and a half hour transfer to resort
How long is the ride btw?
It also doesn't take much longer to get there door to door, depending on where you are going from, plus you normally get an extra two days in resort to boot!
Last year we were delayed in London by 2 hours so drunk more in the terminal, by the time we set off at 10pm, most of us were ready for a snooze...
i love taking the train to the alps, but the transfer from geneva airport is ~60 minutes. is that something to think about?
Cmon dunx sort the details out!!
One thing i don't get about the train is that loads of people say oh its great you get two days extra on the slope as you arrive at 8am..and then stay up all night all the way there getting so pissed that they arrive wasted and useless to ride.
And we had enough sleep on the train we rode most of the extra day
That's crazy who would be stupid enough to do that!!
In all seriousness though, if I did start drinking when the journey began, I'd probably doze off at midnight and sleep for the rest of the trip! haha
Gotta admit it is fun drinking when travelling, so long as you don't lose your passport or anything!

Or wake up in a seedy hotel bathtub full of ice missing a kidney or 2

You're thinking of the snow train you get via a ferry from Dover; the sleeper train.
The Eurostar is all seats and is direct from London. Not quite the party train and you do get the two full extra days.
But Bourg is a long way from Morzine compared to Geneva airport. I don't really think it's a good option for this one. We won't be organising transfers from Bourg for one, but you could still do this yourself if you're desperate to go by train.
Hopefully we'll have the final details by this Wednesday.
...well of course providing I actually go! :-P
