ooh I might be up for this too! But I'm with Pocket on this... beer in a water bottle is definitely a must.. and it will probably make me better at climbing too, like with most things :-P

Please bear in mind though, I haven't done anything like this in like 15 years when I climbed a 5-6ft kiddy wall in a playground at the cavaran park in Cornwall!!

its a shame they havn't finished next door yet they are just turning it in to a bouldering place, which will free up some space in the main room.

However the current bouldering section, is very good as andy says.
The cave down stairs is my fav place to 'hang' around!

When are we thinking of doing this? friday evening?

I originally thought Sat morning, but I don't mind really, if redpoint is 15 mins away we can go whenever people wanna.

As I said before, I guess you can just go in for bouldering, although a few of us could join for full membership is anybody want's to try a route, every wall I know of allows a full member to sign in 2 novices.

For any novice thinking of going bouldering, you don't need, and usualy aren't allowed to wear a harness. You do need to hire, or own, proper shoes, thats all, there's bound to be enough people with chalk not to worry about it. Nothing else you need other than reasonably loose clothes that won't be too hot.

Not bouldering only harry, it was a suggestion for novices that was all. Myself and no. 1 son will be taking harness and rope, but if there's a lot of people who have never climbed before then all walls will generally allow them in to boulder at least and usually allow experienced climbers to sign up to 2 novices in each.
