Booking now live.

http://www.snowboardclub.co.uk/winterbash

Whilst it's a bit more expensive than last year, we're in a much better resort. Plan Peissey last year was a bargain, but a little too quiet for many. L2A is anything but!

We have an initial 50 places up for grabs. Last year we sold out, so secure your place with £100 deposit and grab a cheap flight asap.

This thread is for general discussion and questions. Anything that keeps coming up we'll try to add to the main event page, so keep an eye on that and on the Facebook event page too.

Dunx, as there's no option to upgrade to a larger area lift pass like other resorts, does the one-pass option cover the whole resort?

The lift pass includes days in other resorts already. There's no extended pass as the place isn't really linked to anywhere else like Les Arcs, Avoriaz, Tignes or Val Thorens have been in the past.

I'm up for this but I can't get the full week off. would it be possible to arrange a shorter lift pass? Appreciate it would be difficult to change the full week accommodation charge

Just seen this

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/snowandski/skiing-news/11741162/Eurost...

"This is the first ski season that a direct Eurostar train will run from London to Lyon; taking just over four and a half hours, the service puts passengers within easy reach of many resorts in the French Alps, such as Alpe d'Huez and Les Deux Alpes."

Anyone considering Eurostaring it again this year or everyone hopping in cars?

Yes, that's a shame as it's one of the big bonuses of the train to Bourg. An early start and late arrival back in London may scupper some people, but the train part of the journey is certainly quick and no bad night's sleep either. Still need to transfer to and from resort of course from Lyon, which will add hours to the journey.

Just been having an interesting read for some new European breakdown cover ADAC membership looks pretty good £59 for a year and another bonus is if the insured driver is injured and can't drive they'll get the car back home for you. They'll also get you car back to the uk in the event of a breakdown.

Ok i've just joined up again because i basically have no mates who snowboard! (Did have a wife to go with but don't any more haha!) This looks like the perfect holiday to have a good laugh and meet some new people!

Whats the protocol? Is it just turn up, shred, drink beer, all fairly relaxed? Do i need to be a certain standard? Blues easy, Can just about handle a red, never been on blacks (well not intentionally but that's another story). Up for some park stuff but never really done it. Few little jumps at MK but that's about it.

I'm a chilled out 35 yr old who just wants to go for some fun times and good memories!

And is there even any spaces left?

WELCOME!!!

This is an easy to join holiday, any levels are welcome and you're bound to find other people of the same level as you to ride with. Closer to the holiday Dunx will send an email to allocate rooms and usually tries to put similar levels together. Also we have the welcome drinks night and the SCUK Quiz which will help you get to know people too... plus if you take up the meals option then you'll end up sitting with new people most nights too.

As far as I know theres a few spaces left at this price... so book up now :-) I think there is a possibility of additional spaces but depends on demand I think.

I'm really tempted to sign up to this, as I'm now in a similar position to estwig and furiol (except it was gf) and i've missed a couple of seasons due to injury.

Would like to get a travel buddy ideally though, for either a drive from around Guildford/London area or a flight from Gatwick....anyone?

I think all the cars are full that are going, but the trip is still open. They keep telling us it's about to close, but haven't done it yet!

You won't regret joining us for some fun on the hill.

Just remembered to pay Wasteland my balance, think is due 42 days before trip which is round about now I think. Not sure if they are strict about the deadline.

Think booking is still open so I'd have thought we'd be ok with the deadline. Also seems odd they haven't sent out an e-mail reminding us about paying the remaining balance!

Still no email reminder from Wasteland yet (if they ever send them out?), but just paid the balance off on mine.

Looking at going to the Brits too in Laax in April. Hoping that the winter season's going to run long this year…

We're chasing them on this! Will be quite over Christmas I expect. We'll sort out rooming with people direct once we know what apartments we're being allocated.
