I know that as soon as there is info, on any of the bashes, it will be posted, so this post may seem a bit pushy / daft, but i fancy this early bash, but am getting to the point where i need to sort my hours out for the end of year... any info at all???

Anymore info on the early bash? Is it still going ahead with it being just over 6 weeks away? Anyone else thinking of going?

Tell me about it!

We met Outgoing at the ski show on Friday and they did say the final info was coming soon. Includes this and the hotel details for the Winter Bash.

We hope to start taking bookings for this by the end of the week.

The delay was caused by somebody on here suggesting Jardin de la Balme wasn't a very good place to stay, so they've taken a while to find alternative group accommodation.

There will be a heap of students in resort at the same time as this trip, again through Outgoing. Whether that's good or bad depends on your PoV I guess ;) It does mean there's some cracking club nights planned if that's your bad and if it's not then you can be pretty certain the slopes will be deserted early in the morning Laughing

Right, this is what we have so far. All subject to confirmation, but seems like a proper bargain to me.

Looks like an awesome deal guys, what will be the deal for booking for 2 people since the smallest room seems to be a 4 person studio? When will it be available to book? Sounds ideal for a cheeky week away and some early snow.

Like it that on the http://www.outgoing.co.uk/scuk page it says 'Book onto this trip' (like its open already), so I click on that, then on the next page 'Book now',(click!) but then it says "Coming Soon. Bookings for this trip will be opening shortly" while above that it says "3 DAYS LEFT TO BOOK. AVAILABILITY: SELLING FAST!" Laughing

Hopefully they'll get it sorted soon.

Incompetence is one thing, but dishonesty is something else. No criticism of SCUK intended, but Outgoing really are a shower Thumbs Down

I'm sure the actual trips will be as good as ever, but the booking hassle is obviously making some people think twice about going.

I doubt they were being dishonest, it's probably more of a case that they're using bits of code from one booking page to build another and haven't got all the details for the SCUK Bash updated yet. The "3 days left to book" has now changed to 17 days, so people have time to book yet...

Still, the booking bit seems to be live now as they're asking for a deposit, so I might have to see if I can book Smile

Update: Still a few bugs in the booking system yet!

Going through the booking process on the Outgoing booking page and their website won't go any further than the 'Extras information' page (I've chosen options and chosen to have no-options and clicking on the proceed button does nothing) - anyone else having problems..?

I got as far as paying with no problem, but seeing as I'm not going I didn't go any further.

I have asked them to add the apartment name to their booking form, but good to go I reckon.

Just checked again. I get to the credit card page fine. Did you book the other trip on Safari? I can't imagine the code behind the pages is any different between the pages. Any error messages you've not spotted for missing fields?

Booked up and paid the deposit with Safari, so I guess they'd not put a final link to the payment page in place when I tried to book.

Oddly, the email confirmation I got back stated :
–––––––––––––––––––––
SCUK Early Bash (7 nights)

Accommodation details:

Nights 1 to 6 - Check-in: 10/12/2011 Check-out: 16/12/2011

Val d'Isere Self Catered Accommodation, Val D'Isere
–––––––––––––––––––––

Er, surely seven nights accommodation would mean checking-in on the 10th and out on the morning of Saturday 17th (not Friday 16th..?)
I've sent an email asking them to clarify the situation. Will keep you posted.

Come along Robin - yes there'll be SCUKers there who know each other, and SCUKers on their own on their first trip who've never met others before, and as we're tagging along with a University trip loads of students no-one's met either. Should be fun. Smile

I'll be booking soon and going alone so you won't be the only one.

Are the room shares with just scuk or could it be anyone including uni students?

I'd hope we'd be put together in appartments, and the students will sleep where they fall/pass out in their own sick.

I *think* we're actually in separate apartments as the ones they first suggested we'd heard had previously been given the thumbs down. It was the main reason for the delay in booking.

Where they are actually looks really good to me.

Are you going by coach? Any idea where the coach picks up?
Trying to see if it's cheaper getting a train to London and then going by coach or flying and getting the transfer.

I'll be flying to Geneva from Birmingham. I was thinking of getting a transfer with bens bus which should be £75 with the scuk discount.

Sorry I've no idea where the coach picks up from, but I shall be flying from Luton as I'm heading around the mountain to stay in Tignes the week after the Early Bash and flying back after that.

Still not heard back from Outgoing yet.

Got an email back from their customer service person with regards the dates on my confirmation email:

"Thanks for the email.

Yes we have noticed the date error and we are sorry for the inaccuracy. This was just a mistake on the confirmation email and has now been sorted. The correct dates are 10th – 17th December. This may not show on the booking however these are the dates of the trip,

Sorry for the inconvenience,"

So it seems to be all sorted Smile

After all that, I somehow can't staff the shop that week without me. Got the week before it off, so going to go on the endeavour board test week in tignes.
