Raven Snowboards?

I just got back from Austria riding my new Raven board and have to say I love it.
Went out with some friends, one was riding my old Burton Custom and another was on his new Raven TTT rocker.
I have the RVN Rocker which is a twin tip with set back. Rode on both mine and the others, is slightly stiffer than the TTT. The bindings on the RVN can be set pretty much even if you want the True Twin tip feel.
I was happy with the slight set back, which helped when dropping off piste.
Found the RVN to be a good all rounder, very well made, easy to Ollie, doesn't grab on the flat which should make flat tricks easier.
So much better to ride than my Burton, which is a 10year old camber board.
So anyone thinking about getting one of these amazing boards. DO IT. You will not be disappointed.
With the core i could still ride all mountain withthe one board but it is a little stiffer. Whereas i am a little concerned the TTT would be too noodlie if i wanted to hit a piste or two as well. Which does happen. Lol.
Glad you're enjoying your purchase mate. I was super surprised at just how good my board was for the price. Hence considering my second purchase. gonna get S600 bindings though this time.

The reason I went for the RVN was because the stiffness is in between the Core & TTT. The only other difference is the set back as both TTT & Core are true twin tipped. The set back is only 15mm so can be made equal if you move bindings around. Being a reverse camber gives more pop too.
rails and boxes felt way more comfortable and the board way more flexy for slope tricks. it's a shame I'm a bit sh1t still, just can't blame the board anymore!
These great reviews sound really promising. Still training for snowboarding at the moment but would these boards really be good enough for a beginner to start out on?
Some nice looking boards and bindings set for some really nice looking prices.
I have a K2 WWW and a K2 Fastplant (almost twice as expensive). And out of the two I get on so much better with my K2 WWW
i was just wondering what raven/ varient board would suit me? im 6 foot 4, 95kg and wear a size 14 uk boot. it will be mostly indoor real snow and mabe a trip to the alps in a few months.
many thanks Alistair.
Could somebody post pictures of their board properly and maybe someone could do a video review as I don't kow now. I have been thinking about them step in bindings but before I do any real research in this area I think it's safe to say I need to get my boots fitted first.
Rich (Snorider) will post some proper pics of actual product up if you ask him nicely too.
Id say avoid them step in bindings too, theres a reason no one makes them any more.
Errrr?
please dont get step in bindings. i beg you. crap for control (straps will hold your feet in better) and they just suck when you're on snow.. compacted snow will need to be chiseled out before you can get your foot locked in which can be difficult! also you will need new boots which are step in boots specific to the step in binding type.
also.. please dont get flow bindings.. they're a discrace to snowboard bindings.. just wrong. tried them once and wanted to set them on fire.. crap quality and just plain rubbish.. lol.

i have no problems with my TTT, and i rag the hell out of it on sheffield dryslope.. pretty much every day of the week too.

Its more the 1 or 2 post accounts which purely say how great the boards are. They could be genuine punters which is cool. The cynical side of me thinks it could be people working for Raven which seems dishonest.
There is nothing wrong with what i got, it was great for learning on and linking my first turns etc. But i am now progressing in to some freestyle too so I would prefer a twin board. Not to say that i cant do it on my current board, i can. But everybody loves an excuse for new gear, right?
On a side note i am also quite impressed with how the board has held up in a less than ideal scottish season haha.
EDIT: ALso to agree with you, i hope its not raven employees, but then employees of most companies will tell you they invented the whell to get you to buy their stuff lol

I only have a couple of post so can see what you mean, I only got my pathron board of Friday but will be off to the snowdome on Sunday to see how it goes, as i said in my other post the quality of it all seem really good to me so will say more after Sunday
I think a fair few of the low post count people are people who joined the forum asked what they should get or an opinion on the boards as they saw them on ebay and if you google raven boards, this thread comes way up the list. Then they get one and post on here.
You could say I'm biased cos I sell them, but I only sell them cos I think theyre good. If I wanted to sell crap I would buy boards in like the Heli ones etc which you can get out of the factory in China at 13 euros a piece and shift them on, but theyre toys, not snowboards.

Marcin Pyc at Snowboards24 has been great and given me alot of help and sent me loads of links to different raven boards etc but with all that I am unsure as to what size to go for!!! Alot of sites say 156cm but Marcin is saying for park 153cm or 154cm if I am looking for a more versatile board which I understand what he is saying its just I seem to be getting more and more confused, especially with this being my 1st Board!!
I'm doing progression sessions at Tamworth Snowdome and hopefully moving onto Rails,Tricks,Jumps etc at some point
I'm 5ft 8
Size 9 Northwave Freedom Boot
Weigh 13stone
I want a board which is going to be a good all rounder and is going to help me to progress in my boarding and I would like the cap style bindings. I want a board which will be good at the snowdome but just as good on the mountain, if thats even possible!!!
Any help, links. alternative packages would be great as I just want to get out of the rental stuff and get my own set up which is comfortable to ride and will help me to progress.
Cheers
Daz
156 sounds about right for your size but i wouldn't judge that as "this is the length i need", its more a guide, you can go up or down from there if it suits your style. The reason Marcin is downsizing is because he is assuming you want a more park board, which has more flex and forgiveness for throwing about the park features (shorter), if all you wanted to do was hoon about piste going as fast as you can, a 156+ might suit you better.
I am telling you this as its better to understand it rather than just get told, then you can go away and pick your own board
seeing as its your first board and you wont have a dedicated "park" board (I dont either yet) and If its a Raven board you are after then the Core sounds right up your street. Its mid flex so fine for park but not too soft a board that you cant go down the hill at a reasonable speed and Twin tip so that you can ride both regular and switch with no penalty. I dont have a core yet but my info for it is based on their website, what other people have said, and a review i read on it. So i will leave the judgement up to you.
The s250 bindings that come with most of the raven boards are adequate to learn on but i am now finding mine a bit lacking now that i have progressed. Photoshoppedtodeath suggested the S600 bindings are better.
Alternatively you could buy the board seperately from the photoshoped and Angrydonkeys www.minus-nine.co.uk, and then pick your own bindings if you dont trust the raven bindings. I would maybe speak to these guys anyway and see what they can offer. they have been very helpful to me.
Anyway, good luck. If you have any other questions just ask.
