Atomic Hatchet is an all mountain freestyle board, it is not a freeride specific board.

There are dozens but my personal favs are the Salomon Sick Stick or Powdersnake and the Signal OG.

Great board, but which one?
I've got the 2009, the perfect all round, do everything board (full camber) and the 2012, which is better off-piste but much looser on-piste and more buttery (hybrid rocker).

For the perfect freeride board, try the 2011 or '12 Atomic Stasher. Bloody awesome!

I like Atomic boards.

Perhaps freeride ought to be defined a bit more. Freeride in terms of manufacturer descriptions tend to mean that its a powder board, designed for big mountains and deep powder.

Did you mean this type of riding, or do you mean freeriding as in anything that isn't park / rails, in which case an all-mountain freestyle board would probably do you just fine!

Careful Sidge, you came this close from the receiving end of a practical demo of the bowl of condoms you been winding everyone up in L2A.

Fastest board I've ever ridden and I'm not likely to get rid of it, but in my experience of the Vapor, it's not actually much fun. It's "dicking around" rating is fairly low.

Get something with magne traction, wavy edge, I have a Rossignol experience and love it.

I bought a custom flying-v for powder. It is very mellow and floats very well on powder. It is not for aggressive turns bear in mind.

is it so fast because of the WFO base? I've got a Burton Supermodel with "I think" the same base

I'm considering getting a vapour, I was just wondering what makes it so fast and is it worth the money?

Anything cheap, Austrian and at least a few years old?

If you are not after an All Mountain board then there should be something you can break?
