Scotland Shred mission

Has anyone driven/flown up to the likes of Glencoe for a weekend mission before, and if so, what are the costs? Is it a ballache, or worth it for the money etc?
Seriously considering checking it out, especially if the snow this season is as good as last year!

Depends where you're flying from but its always going to be a toss up between cost and time, generally cheaper to drive but takes longer. And as anyone on here will say, booking well in advance for shredding up here is always a dangerous game due to unpredictable conditions. Best to watch the snow reports and be ready to jump when you get the chance/conditions.
Theres tons of threads on Scotland. Its always reommended by people, like me and Uddie, who like in Scotland. Its great if you are going to get up a bit early and get home a bit late. Or make a cheap weekend of it.
It can be as cheap or as expensive as you like. Minimum being £30-40 pp for a bed. £35 a day lift pass (ish) and £10 for lunch in the cafe and fuel to get there.
I take the sleeper train to Scotland instead, Aviemore (Cairngorm mountain) is doable from London, direct trains.
Glencoe is my "Local" but I try to do a long weekend instead and combine with mountaineering as you can't predict the weather far in advance.
the drive back can be long one but sunday evening roads certainly help, plus there's the new glasgow bypass motorway section.
leave it to the last possible minute to avoid a wasted journey & make use of the cheap hostels.
as Uddie says, last season was poor so hopefully we'll get a good one this winter.
I can't friggin wait to get back up there
