Did a few experiments and worked out that facebook really hides most of your posts to your friends and hides what you can see from your friends.
Normally less than a dozen people see your posts.
So I had enough, first things firsts, delete all your facebook page likes and then all the "friends" you seen only once in your life, you don't get on with or don't talk to.
For a very long time I only post in twitter but for now I am going to use mostly twitter and pinterest and will use facebook only as a messaging platform.
Ok, this might be useful for some of you who haven't worked this out about facebook.
i now use Google Plus instead.

stickers, stickers, stickers. want one? pm me. Brilliant die cut stickers at a decent price.
I get the latest updates from stuff I am interested in and don't get posts from people who think it's important to tell everyone how good lunch was and how much they are looking forward to the cinema and then 2 hours later how good some movie was and who you are going to the pub with. I haven't posted a status update since February and had to scroll through just 15 posts on my wall to get back that far, some people would still be in this weekend if they did that.
Use facebook how you want it and it's good.

.
Facebook doesnt hide your posts from friends. Unless people have removed your posts from their newsfeed then your posts will appear on their news feed page
Pretty much the only thing I miss about FB is reading I fecking Love Science, From Quarks the Quasars and other science pages while having my breakfast and the snow porn pics I got from liking various pages. If it wasn't for the fact Have friends now living all round the world i would have deleted it entirely. Each to their own I guess though.
Im one of them people who hates conforming with the masses though so I hate the idea that people get paranoid about not checking it every 2 minutes and think their lives will end without it. Most of the people I speak to most are all in the same chat on Whatsapp and we chat most days on there
Oh and Harry, sounds like you have way too much time on your hands!

What planet are you on??
Have you noticed the most recent or most important option on your news feed? Check the wall of your friends you don't contact much, you will see they did tons of posts you never saw, even if you set your feed to most recent option.
Maybe you do it properly and only have a handful of friends, that would work.
Repeated food posts, baby posts, omg I go the gym posts. Deleted. No warnings, straight up delete. I got rid of 300 people and most didn't notice.
A mix of 3 bashes worth of people I met once, forum members I never met and didn't post anything all got chopped. About 3 people noticed.
I use it mainly for moaning, as my mrs doesn't want to hear it,boasting I have days off while people are in work and to organise rugby training sessions and squads for sat.
It is what you make it.

why the agressive response?

Yep I got delete from Dale so can confirm this this true. Not quite sure why tho.. oh well

I doubt many facebook friends do either, It was the 3 rugby posts in 1 day that earned the unfollow anyways
It's good to have a load of people who are easy to contact which is why I don't delete people but you don't have to put up with stuff that doesn't interest you.
It also grew tiring seeing constant status updates about stuff I didn't care about. I also didn't like the fact they occasionally changed security settings so that your account would be slightly more public than you would like every so often.
Unsurprisingly I've not missed it since closing my account and feel a little bit happier not everyone can learn every little detail about my life from searching FB or running a google search.
If you want to spread a message to everyone then send an e-mail.
Makes sense does it not?
I like Dale's deleting style... mostly its a name and shame - very funny - I keep wanting to do it but I've not had the guts!
I've got a fairly select group of friends on FB (about 120ish) and it makes me chuckle when I see these type of posts, as I generally think "oh, didn't realise I was 'friends' with you". It's gerally an attention seeking thing though, I feel, as if they want you to be all chuffed to bits & appreciative that you made the 'select few'. The day I reply "thanks" to one of them, will be the day I stop drawing breath....
IM sh1t is better for a conversation than e-mail ever was and most people are on FB whenever they are at a computer/on their phone so they don't need to open e-mails or install a different IM client.
