#1 Topic:  Snow and Rock do an SCUK discount - kind of
Posted 24 October 2011 - 11:04am on Freeski Club UK
I had an interesting thing happen to me at S+R the other day. I asked if I could have a discount on the things I wanted to buy, to which the answer was a straight out 'No'.

However, when I mentioned that I had a 10% discount voucher for TSA, which is just round the corner, they said if that was the case, and TSA had the same gear in stock, then they would match the price Smile

The S+R Price Match says the following "We strive to make our prices in the UK the most competitive prices across Europe, so if you find the same product for a lower price (in the same size, colour and specification) we'll be happy to refund the difference. See our Terms+Conditions for more information."

So, I'm assuming this might work at any S+R where there is a store offering the SCUK discount nearby (or perhaps even if there isn't one nearby), in effect meaning they do offer a discount equivalent to the one you get with an SCUK membership.

Just thought it might be useful for people to know this.

Whilst it's good to know, doesn't this mean you'd be passing up buying from someone who chose to be affiliated with SCUK and offer a partner discount, just to buy from Snow & C(r)ock every time instead?

Would rather give my notes to the people who took the time to get involved with SCUK in the first place imo! Razz

I suppose it'd be useful if they'd price match another shop a reasonable distance away, for those who happen to live close to a S&R though!

They do, it extends to Internet deals too. As long as the item is in stock and you could buy it, they price match it. Albeit reluctantly when it's less than their cost price! I bought a full dakine tune kit from them for £35 because I found it online for that.

They told me at Covent Garden S+R shop that main reason for price match introduction are boots.
People will come in and try boots for two hours, find what fits and then go and buy on line.
So now they match online price for everything.

Yeah I would too but I've found I always get much more personal and better service from Snow and Rock than TSA. Plus, in this instance there was a specific reason why I was buying something from S+R anyway.

Also, being in London I'm kinda limited to S+R or TSA. So if TSA don't have what I'm after I'm gonna go to S+R, and their pricematch means I get to save some money.

Yeah, I totally understand that but I'll go to where I feel I'll get the best service. The guys at TSA are very friendly and chatty but I've never had anyone actually try and help fit boots when I've been there. They just dump them down in front of me and wander off to help someone else, which might explain part of the reason why the last couple of pairs I bought from them turned out to be a pretty bad fit - the first destroyed my feet in less than half a day and the last pair were almost 2 sizes too big Suprised
