Me and partner are in Verbier Switzerland and have been since early December,
Had a few issues with flights and stuff and tryed contacting our insurance compant through email back in December, failing that we then sent the necessary paper work off a few weeks later in early January too see if maybe we could claim on a flight cancelation.
Wasnt really expecting a huge pay out but just an email of Acknowledgment or a letter would have been nice, even a phone call to say no you can't claim, but no we have heard absolutly nothing, have now lost complete faith in this insurance as i'ts been well over 2 months I would hate to think what would happen if i had to make a serious claim. Dissapointed i think is fair to say.
my partner contacted scuk last week and explained our situation and since then you(scuk)have contacted the insurance company we've given our phone number on a number of occasions and after the insurance company stated they would get back to us asap, we have still heard nothing. Pretty poor wouldnt you agree.

"Hello, I paid for a service and I'd like to receive that service please"
Nothing wrong with inquiring if you haven't heard from them
I'd ring after 2 weeks, let alone 2 months!
I sent them an email with all the forms attached as scans (i had scanned them all so I had a copy of what I'd sent) and I heard back from them with a matter of days about my quote.
The SCUK insurance is through TGIC, but another party deals with any claims, ring them directly and chase it up. Same as Sidge, 2 months?! I'd be ringing so often after a few weeks that everyone in the call center knew me by name!
But as they rarther us take out the policy online, didnt think it would be such a problem claiming online or post.
Why have this service or the option to print off the proper forms to fill out and make your claim if they rarther you do it over the phone.
But hey they are an insurance company after all.

Apologies for this as I understand your frustration from Jess who you've been dealing with in the office. As you know we've passed your details onto our contact at TGIC and she in turn has passed it onto the claims department asking for them to respond urgently to your enquiry.
Clearly the claims department hasn't got back to you so our contact at TGIC has just informed the management at the claims department to get this sorted right away.
Hopefully this will get things moving.
It's in none of our interests to have unhappy customers so we are doing what we can to move this forward. From previous experience most claims seem to have been dealt with pretty quickly, there are always anomalies and its unfortunate its yourself.

"My apologies that no one has contacted the policyholder. Each time Jess has asked me to look into I have forwarded to Claims and asked for an immediate call back.
I have now sent it on to management to ask that it is actioned immediately by management and I will follow this through with them this afternoon to make sure that it has been done."

"Claims tried to contact the policyholder on 28th February to advise them that settlement is to be made but unfortunately the line could not connect.
They have now emailed them to inform them that payment is on its way."
