Old Skool - A night of pure fun to celebrate the 1st year of Document.
The Snozone definately made a huge effort for us, getting together a number of new obstacles for their park - a picnic bench, a box, a long low rail and a six foot high rail of death, plus their normal selection of kickers and rails. The event had a good atmosphere, something that's often lacking at Snozone (for which we blame the Pomas). The place was heaving and we've never seen it so busy on a Friday night. Not many people seemed to be dressed up, us included, but those that did looked propper 80s. Played to those who made an effort. There were some youngsters really ripping it up and some well known faces also dragging everybody along and upwards to push themselves that little bit more. A few people took to the mic, including Rob Needham as throw-down prize master and Jason Horton who took us for a ride down the slope and over the rail of death. Perhaps the only downer on the evening was BASIL (from our Adrenalin Forum) who decided to land on his head in pursuit of some small prize on the gap jump and pool combo. His head buried itself into the landing, he crumpled and then slid down the slope on his face having knocked himself out. The Snozone staff were their usual effecient selves and got the boy off to hospital. For those that care, BASIL phoned Russ Shea the next day and is fine. The rest of us went to the bar to celebrate the fact that we weren't in hospital and were treated to a bit of breakdancing including cameo appearances from Rob Needham, Stu Brass and Jeremy Sladen. Then we buggered orf. Our thoughts? The best Snozone evening to date and hopefully some of the kit will stay on for a while - the bench and box at least. So, many happy returns to Document SNOWBOARD, cheers to Russ for organising it and for Snozone for getting it sorted.
